LOS LOBOS Come to Boulder Theater 3/4

We're a Mexican American band, and no word describes America like immigrant. Most of us are children of immigrants, so it's perhaps natural that the songs we create celebrate America in this way. So says Louie Perez, the poet laureate and primary wordsmith of Los Lobos, when describing the songs on the band's new album, Gates of Gold.

On Wednesday, November 8, the Lung Cancer Research Foundation (LCRF) held its Fifteenth Annual Strolling Supper at Gotham Hall in New York City. During the event, LCRF announced its recent merger with Free to Breathe, a lung cancer research and advocacy organization. By coming together, the new LCRF will makan even greater impact on closing the funding gap for lung cancer research.

About Shakedown Street: One of the longest running Grateful Dead tribute bands in the world, Shakedown Street, makes its home in and around the Rocky Mountain region of North America. Spawned from jam sessions at the Ancient Mariner bar in Manitou Springs, Colorado in 1987, Shakedown Street quickly grew in popularity, and garnered a legion of loyal fans who refer to themselves as 'Shakeheads'. In a few short years, throngs of 'Shakeheads' could be found on the highways and byways of the Rocky Mountains, making their way to another Shakedown Street show.

KANSAS, Los Lobos, Ana Gasteyer, TAO: DRUM HEART and More Set for Poway OnStage's 2017-18 Season

The Poway OnStage 2017/18 season opens with the arena rock of KANSAS. It continues with GRAMMY winning artists: Los Lobos, Aaron Neville, BJ Thomas and Roger McGuinn. Saturday Night Live alumna and Broadway leading lady Ana Gasteyer brings her cabaret show. Local music takes center stage with Six String Society's Sounds of the Big Easy and roots rockers Berkley Hart. Cameron Carpenter brings his international touring organ and a wide repertoire of classical and modern pieces. Love Letters From Vietnam is a unique live theatrical musical performance of Alex Woodward's songs written for the daughter of Vietnam vet Sgt. John K. Fuller. TAO: Drum Heart closes the season with their world tour of large-scale Japanese taiko drumming, dance and martial arts.

The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center and AEG Presents announced today that tickets for Taj Mahal/Keb' Mo' will go on sale Friday, March 17 at 10 a.m. Grammy award-winning American blues musician, Taj Mahal and three-time Grammy winner and visionary roots-music storyteller, Keb' Mo' will perform for one night only at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Strauss Square in the downtown Dallas Arts District.
