SHOWTIME Honored With 8 Golden Globe Nominations

SHOWTIME was honored with eight Golden Globe nominations this morning, the most series nominations for any network (cable or broadcast), tied with premium channel HBO.

2012 GOLDEN GLOBE Nominations Announced

Gerard Butler, Woody Harrelson, Rashida Jones, and Sofia Vergara were on hand to announce the nominees for the 2012 Golden Globes Awards this morning. The award ceremony will be held in Beverly Hills on January 15, 2012.

Cheyenne Jackson's PRICE CHECK to Premiere at 2012 Sundance Film Festival

Sundance Institute announced today the films selected to screen in the out-of-competition Premieres and Documentary Premieres sections of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. Included in this year's line-up is Price Check, featuring Cheyenne Jackson, Parker Posey, and Annie Parisse.The Festival will be held January 19 through 29 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. Justin Kirk to Join Cast of OTHER DESERT CITIES, 1/10

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that Justin Kirk will assume the role of Trip Wyeth in its critically acclaimed production of OTHER DESERT CITIES, a new play by Jon Robin Baitz, directed by Joe Mantello, on Tuesday, January 10 at the Booth Theatre (222 W. 45 Street).

Marin Mazzie Leads CARRIE at MCC in 2012; Full Season Announced!

According to an audition notice, the musical revival of CARRIE will hold a development lab at MCC from May 25, 2011 through June 7, 2011. Stafford Arima will direct, Matt Williams will choreograph, and Mary Mitchell-Campell will musical direct.

RZA to Guest Star on 5th Season of Showtime's Californication

Music icon, producer, actor and director RZA (American Gangster, Derailed) has signed on for the 5th season of the hit SHOWTIME comedy series CALIFORNICATION. RZA will guest star in multiple episodes as an extreme-living, mega-rich hip hop mogul who hires Hank (series star and executive producer David Duchovny) to write a screenplay for his hot new film. Production on the 5th season begins this May.

MCC's MISCAST Honors Tomei, Schreiber, Busch et al. 3/14; Bravo's Andy Cohen Hosts

MCC Theater (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, Artistic Directors; William Cantler, Associate Artistic Director; Blake West, Executive Director) will celebrate the company's 25th anniversary by honoring a host of MCC artists past and present at Miscast 2011. This highly anticipated annual gala will take place on Monday, March 14, 2011 at The Hammerstein Ballroom (311 West 34th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues). Andy Cohen (Host of Bravo TV's 'Watch What Happens Live') will host the evening. David Duchovny (star of the recent MCC Theater hit, The Break of Noon), Téa Leoni, Hugh Dancy (star of yet another recent MCC hit, The Pride) and Claire Danes are this year's honorary chairs. Funds raised from Miscast help MCC Theater produce some of the most talked-about new work Off Broadway and support their Youth Company and in-school partnerships that serve New York City public high school students, as well as their literary development work with emerging playwrights.

'Sex & the City's' Evan Handler Leads ACAPULCO Reading for SoBe Arts

Executive Artistic Director Carson Kievman has announced that SoBe Institute of the Arts (SoBe Arts) will present staged readings of promising new plays, beginning with Acapulco by New York writer Jacquelyn Reingold (HBO's In Treatment, Law and Order, and produced off-Broadway) and featuring L.A.-based Evan Handler ('Sex and the City,' 'Californication,' and films by Ron Howard and Oliver Stone) in addition to local artists.

Nadia Dajani, Evan Handler et al. Set for ACAPULCO Reading, 1/30

Executive Artistic Director Carson Kievman has announced that NY-based actress, Nadia Dajani and South Florida performers Amy McKenna, Elayne Wilks, Ryan George, Glen Lawrence and Brian McCormack have joined Evan Handler, completing the cast for SoBe Arts upcoming staged readings of ACAPULCO by New York writer Jacquelyn Reingold and directed by Michael Leeds.
