THE SPITFIRE GRILL - Next for Musical Theatre Guild

Musical Theatre Guild, the winner of the Los Angeles Drama Critic's Circle Margaret Harford Award for sustained excellence in the theatre, will continue their 21st Anniversary Season with award-winning Off-Broadway musical THE SPITFIRE GRILL.  The one-night-only concert will take place at Glendale's historic Alex Theatre on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 7:00 PM.

Exhibition Celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the Summer of Love by Showcasing Radical Art, Architecture, and Design of the Counterculture

The University of California, Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) will launch the region-wide celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Summer of Love with HIPPIE MODERNISM: THE STRUGGLE FOR UTOPIA. This major exhibition examines the intersection of the radical art, architecture, and design of the counterculture of the 1960s and early 1970s and the resonance of these innovations today. A traveling exhibition organized by the Walker Art Center and assembled with the assistance of BAMPFA, Hippie Modernism will be on view in Berkeley from February 8 through May 21, 2017. The exhibition will coincide with the first anniversary of BAMPFA's new Diller Scofidio + Renfro-designed building in downtown Berkeley.

IAM Theatre Announce National Premiere of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE Musical

IAM Theatre Company has announced its fall production--the National Premiere of Pride and Prejudice - The Musical, to run at the Southside Theatre at Fort Mason Center from September 23rd to October 9th. Pride and Prejudice - The Musical, based on Jane Austen's famous novel, features lyrics and music by Marin County's two-time Emmy Award winning Rita Abrams, with book by best-selling San Francisco author Josie Brown. The show is directed by Lexie Papedo Gasparini. This will be the musical's first production in the United States since its recent world premiere in London.

Showtime's EPISODES to Conclude Run Following Fifth Season

After four critically-acclaimed seasons, the hit SHOWTIME comedy series EPISODES begins production next week on its fifth and final season, it was announced today by Gary Levine, President of Programming, Showtime Networks Inc. The series, starring Matt LeBlanc in his four-time Emmy(R) nominated and Golden Globe-winning role playing a fictionalized version of himself, is created by award-winning writing partners David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik. Klarik will direct all seven episodes, which will film in London and premiere on the network in 2017.

'We were excited to get 2016 - and the 3rd season of (mostly)musicals - off to a happy start, so the only theme was 'happy music'! BWW Review: THE SPARROW, An Intriguing Performance Piece Not Quite Ready for Flight

The west coast premiere of THE SPARROW successfully intrigues as a stylistic performance art piece with some stunning visuals utilizing backlite scrims, clever choreography and inventive staging, with some haunting original music by Gregory Nabours. Kudos to Kristin Browning Campbell's scenic design and Tasheena Medina's choreography using school desks as percussive accents and balls and books as dancing props.

Calarco, there will be one preview performance on October 23 at 8pm and opening is set for Saturday, October 24 at 8pm. The Sparrow will play through November 21 at the Historic Lankershim Arts Center.
