AMERICAN IDOL will heat up arenas across North America, when AMERICAN IDOLS LIVE! returns for another summer jaunt, showcasing performances by this season's top 11. The tour commences in West Valley City, UT at the Maverik Center on Wednesday July 6th and wraps up Saturday September 10th in Rochester, NY at the Blue Cross Arena. Tickets will be available for purchase Friday, May 13th at 10am via www.AmericanIdol.com , www.ticketmaster.com and www.aeglive.com

From a Casey -on-JLo smooch to a shockingly awesome performance from Ms. Reinhart, last night's episode of American Idol was chock-full of welcomed surprises. Beginning with the unexpected performance from the already eliminated half of the top 13, the shockers just kept coming- perhaps the best of which being the sudden harsher-than-normal criticism from the judges! Finally some legit guidance for the voters that need it!

After the great Pia Toscano debacle of 2011, last week's elimination of Paul McDonald was refreshing to say the least. Though I can't deny that I already miss his uncomfortably white teeth and the kooky way he pranced around the Idol stage, it was his time to go.

Last week, for the first time ever, studio versions of the full-length songs performed by Season 10's Top 13 finalists went on sale exclusively on the iTunes Store as a compilation album, and the release was a Top 10 seller on the iTunes album chart. This week, the 'American Idol Top 12 Season 10' album compilation will go on sale once again exclusively on the iTunes Store at 10pm PST following tonight's 'American Idol.' Individual songs will also be available for sale.

Ryan Seacrest and the American Idol judges have been referring to this year's finalists as the lucky 13. We've followed them as they have traveled from their hometowns, to Hollywood, to Vegas, and right back to the Idol stage. Last night we heard 13 desperate people singing for their lives in the hopes of snagging America's votes for the second time.

Season 7 American Idol winner David Cook has recorded the farewell song for the 10th season of American Idol. The song, chosen by American Idol creator and Executive Producer Simon Fuller, is a remake of Simple Minds 1985 smash 'Don't You (Forget About Me)' will air each week as contestants are eliminated. 'Don't You (Forget About Me)' will be made available starting on today for free on DavidCookOfficial.com for those who preorder David's forthcoming album. It also will be available for sale via iTunes and other digital providers on March 8th.
