Broadway's DAMES AT SEA Sets Student Rush Policy

The first Broadway production of DAMES AT SEA, beginning previews tomorrow, Thursday, September 24, will offer a student rush at the Helen Hayes Theatre box office, BroadwayWorld has confirmed. A limited number of $32 (inclusive of $2 facility fee) tickets will be available for each performance when the box office opens for that day's performance. A valid student ID must be presented at the time of purchase. Limit one ticket per transaction.

Over 100 people mobbed the Helen Hayes Theatre, stopping traffic on West 44th Street for the box office opening of the musical comedy Dames at Sea yesterday, August 31. What caused the disturbance? Under the Broadway Theater's marquee, tap dancers were competing for a chance to tap on stage with the cast of Dames at Sea during a performance.

One Man, Two Guvnors begins the Alley Theatre's 2015-2016 season in the newly renovated Hubbard Theatre on October 2, 2015. Winner of the Critics Circle Award and multiple Tony and Drama Desk Awards, this glorious comedy is a unique laugh-out-loud mix of satire, songs, and stupendous physical comedy. One Man, Two Guvnors, by Richard Bean is based on The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni with songs by Grant Olding and directed by Gregory Boyd. Previews begin October 2, Opening Night October 7, with performances continuing through November 1, 2015.

RALEIGH, N.C. – North Carolina Opera has joined the consortium co-commissioning and co-producing the new opera COLD MOUNTAIN, with music by Pulitzer Prize winning composer Jennifer Higdon and libretto by the renowned Gene Scheer. Based on Charles Frazier's wildly successful 1997 novel COLD MOUNTAIN (which sold over four million copies and won the National Book Award for fiction) this North Carolina story tells of the long journey homeward of Confederate soldier Inman to his love, Ada.

Directed by Michael Wilson, DESIRE features new plays written by John Guare, Beth Henley, Marcus Gardley, Rebecca Gilman, David Grimm and Elizabeth Egloff. DESIRE begins performances on Wednesday, September 2 for a limited engagement through Sunday, October 11. Opening Night is Thursday, September 10 at 7 PM. nfinity Theatre Company (Anna Roberts Ostroff & Alan Ostroff), Martin Platt and David Elliott are pleased to announce that the first Broadway production of Dames at Sea will star John Bolton as The Captain/Hennesey, Mara Davi as Joan, Danny Gardner as Lucky, Eloise Kropp as Ruby, Laurence Olivier Award winner Lesli Margherita as Mona Kent, and Cary Tedder as Dick. The original 1968 production of Dames at Sea launched the career of the young ingenue playing Ruby, Bernadette Peters.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival opens its outdoor theatre the weekend of June 12-14 with Shakespeare's ANTONY AND CLEOPATRA, directed by Bill Rauch; the world-premiere musical by Jeff Whitty with music and lyrics by the Go-Go's, HEAD OVER HEELS, directed by Ed Sylvanus Iskandar; and Alexandre Dumas's THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO, directed by Marcela Lorca.
