It's that time of year, and everyone is making their lists. For me, this task is always harder than it probably should be. I wrestle with myself and debate the merits of everything. I worry about who might get their feelings hurt, and whom I may accidentally overlook. The Public Theater announced the return of Public Forum's holiday tradition, a one-night-only Drama Club reading and discussion of THE LONG CHRISTMAS DINNER on Sunday, December 14 at 7:00 p.m. at Joe's Pub at The Public. Just in time for the holidays, this exciting evening will feature a reading of Thornton Wilder's 1931 one-act featuring Tarell Alvin McCraney, Ethan Lipton, Andrew Solomon, and Tappan Wilder. Wilder's ingenious, heartbreaking play traces 90 years in the life of an American family, and will spark a discussion about family and storytelling in a society that's rapidly accelerating.

Ernabel Demillo hosts with reports from Kyung Yoon and Paul Lin. The new episode premieres today, December 5 (2014) (*see below) and after December 5 is available for viewing 24/7 on www.cuny.tv.

Brooke Shields attended HERE LIES LOVE at the Pubilc Theater last night, where she went down to the dressing rooms after the show to visit the cast. Brooke related stories of when she, as a young girl of 16, was invited to open the Philippines Film Festival and spent a weekend with Imelda Marcos in Manila. The disco musical hit is running through January 4th before embarking on a world tour and the current stars are Jaygee Macapugay as Imelda, Jose Llana as Ferdinand Marcos and Conrad Ricamora as Ninoy Aquino.
