The stars will appear on the stage and in the sky when Bank of America presents the free annual Pasadena Symphony and POPS Music Under The Stars concert, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Pasadena City Hall Centennial Square. Under the baton of multiple Tony Award-nominated conductor Larry Blank, the Pasadena Symphony and POPS orchestra will welcome stars of Broadway, television, and film, Susan Egan, Vicki Lewis, and David Burnham, who will sing a collection of hits from Broadway to the Great American Songbook. The JPL chorus, under the direction of Donald Brinegar, completes the line-up for this sensational evening of Music Under the Stars.

Bay Area Cabaret, devoted to presenting audiences with top performers who expand the definition of cabaret, enters its 10th season this fall with a gala series at the Fairmont San Francisco's historic Venetian Room. To celebrate this significant milestone, Bay Area Cabaret presents a star-studded lineup of performers making their Bay Area Cabaret debuts, as well as the return of a few favorites from the past decade. Opening the seas tonight, September 21, 2013 with a bang is Broadway's Megan Hilty, known to millions as the powerhouse 'Bombshell' on NBC's television program Smash. The season continues October 20, 2013 with Tony nominee Norm Lewis (The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess) and November 10, 2013 with 'America's romantic piano sensation,' multi-platinum selling recording artist Jim Brickman, joined by special guest Broadway heartthrob David Burnham.

On September 15th, 1 host, 12 singers, 2 musical directors, 1 comedian, and a packed house of friends and invited guests celebrated Michael Sterling's birthday at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal. The night, appropriately titled A Sterling Affair, was a sparkling tribute to the man whose name has come to be synonymous with Los Angeles cabaret.

Continuing its 10th Anniversary Season, Bay Area Cabaret presents Tony Award-nominated Broadway star Norm Lewis. America's romantic piano sensation Jim Brickman comes to San Francisco's Nob Hill, for two unique performances presented by Bay Area Cabaret in the historic Venetian Room. The Grammy nominated pianist/songwriter will be joined on stage during his 5pm performance by Broadway heartthrob David Burnham, during which the two will perform songs from Brickman's current "Love Tour," including "Romanza," "Love of My Life," "Dream Come True," and more. For his 8pm solo performance, Brickman will perform a selection of his greatest hits, including "Valentine," "If You Believe," "The Gift," and many other fan favorites. Revolutionizing the sound of solo piano, Brickman currently holds the record for the most appearances by a male artist on Billboard's Adult Contemporary charts. To close out its 60th Season in grand fashion, Musical Theatre West has commissioned a lush new revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tony Award-winning musical SUNSET BOULEVARD on its home stage at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach. Directed by Larry Raben and featuring musical direction by David Lamoureux and choreography by John Todd, this impressive, admirable 20th Anniversary Southern California production continues its limited engagement through July 28.

1993's rarely produced Sunset Boulevard is a flawed, somewhat boring musical play that satisfies best with the casting of an actress of great star quality as Norma Desmond, one whose face could have convincingly lit up a silent film screen. MTW has found its star in Valerie Perri, and under Larry Raben's strong, resourceful staging, Sunset Boulevard is 5-star entertainment.

Casting for Musical Theatre West's (MTW) production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's international hit musical Sunset Boulevard , has been announced by MTW Executive Director/Producer Paul Garman and Director Larry Raben. The 1950 Oscar-winning motion picture of the same title first starred screen legends Gloria Swanson (as Norma Desmond) and William Holden (as Joe Gillis) before it opened as a musical in London's West End starring Patti LuPone and Kevin Anderson at the Adelphi Theatre July 12, 1993 where it ultimately ran for 1529 performances.

Todd Schroeder has announced the talent line up for his 18th Annual Young Artist Benefit Concert in Sonora, California tonight, May 18th. Headlining the show is Harry Middlebrooks, wrtter of the smash hit 'Spooky' in 1967; Robyn Spangler, BroadwayWorld's 2011 Cabaret Artists of the Year; Multi-platinum selling songwriter Kevin Fisher and many more; Songwriter and recording artist Brooke Lundy and many more.

I can't help but borrow from the genius of Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse when I affirm it was The Roar of Kritzerland, The Smell of the burgers at the Federal on Sunday May 5 - Cinco de Mayo, no less - as Kritzerland presented its 33rd show in its current home at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal, entitled Once in a Lifetime: The Songs of Anthony Newley & Leslie Bricusse. And it was a lollapalooza of an evening!
