In the first of three minisodes, award-winning musical theatre writer Joel B. New discusses the development history of his song cycle, STANDALONE. Special vocal cameos by Carrie Love, David Burnham (The Light in the Piazza), Rachel Louise Thomas, Tony Yazbeck (On the Town), Dan Radzikowski, Roy Lightner, Shain Fike, Erin McCracken, and Nicole Wolf.

The minisode series is a countdown to the premiere recording of STANDALONE, set to be released on Monday, July 21st.

On June 29th, New brought the 15-song project into Yellow Sound Lab, located in the heart of the East Village, to record principal vocals.

The cast is comprised of Bill Coyne (Merchant of Venice at GYM @ Judson), Jenny Neale (New's RSVP), Hansel Tan (upcoming Miss Saigon at Flat Rock Playhouse), and Mariand Torres (Natasha, Pierre...). Featuring Sam Shull on piano, Daniel Kim on guitar, and Jessica Winderweedle on drums. Directed by Billy Bustamante, who can currently be seen in Here Lies Love at the Public Theater.
