Great Lakes Theater (GLT), Cleveland's Classic Company, commences the second half its 2017-18 season with Frederick Knott's classic thriller, Wait Until Dark. The production will be performed in the company's intimate and audience-friendly home at the Hanna Theatre, Playhouse Square, February 17 - March 12, 2017. Joseph Hanreddy directs the production. Rising Sun Performance Company started out in a tiny coffee shop on 50th street, in 2001 with myself and two friends- David Anthony and Danielle Montezinos and a big idea. The great big 'What If' - What if we created a place where we as performers were generating the work, selecting the work and casting ourselves? What if we created a place where we worked with people we loved, in a respectful and fun environment? What if when a show was over we didn't have to say goodbye to all of the fabulous creative relationships we made during this show? What if we just did this ourselves?

With so many of the smaller venues disappearing this series not only helps to fill a void by creating a new forum for musicians, but likewise offers the regional clientele the experience of an off the beaten path, nostalgic and intimate music sojourn. Many of the performers who are eager to be part of this series and help kick start it are specifically customizing their shows and designing performances just for this series.

In his program notes for Great Lakes Theater's production, director Joseph Hanreddy states, 'KING LEAR, with its titanic range of emotional, vast physical landscape, dark ironic humor and snarl of mysteries, contradictions, ambiguity and paradoxes, render it one of the theater's greatest challenges to realize in performance.' To his credit, Hanreddy creates a production which lives up to the challenge.
