Lin-Manuel Miranda has won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical for HAMILTON. Miranda wrote the book, music and lyrics for HAMILTON and stars in the lead role as Alexander Hamilton.

Alex Lacamoire has won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Orchestrations for HAMILTON. Lacamoire is the Music Director, Orchestrator and Co-Arranger for HAMILTON.

Thomas Kail has won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Musical for HAMILTON. 

Lin-Manuel Miranda has won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) for HAMILTON. Miranda also wrote the book and stars in the show.

Daveed Diggs has won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical for his dual role as Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in HAMILTON.

Renee Elise Goldsberry has won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical for her role as Angelica Schuyler in HAMILTON.

Paul Tazewell has won the 2016 Tony Award for Best Costume Design of a Musical for HAMILTON. 

The 2016 Tony Awards celebrated 70 years of honoring the best of Broadway last night at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. In addition to the class of 2016 Tony Nominees, the star-studded evening featured appearances by Cate Blanchett, Claire Danes, Common, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Glenn Close, Josh Groban, Jake Gyllenhaal, Neil Patrick Harris, Sean Hayes, James Earl Jones, Daniel Dae Kim, Carole King, Diane Lane, Nathan Lane, Angela Lansbury, Lucy Liu, Bebe Neuwirth, Saoirse Ronan, Keri Russell, Meg Ryan, Barbra Streisand, Oprah Winfrey and many more. As predicted, HAMILTON was the big winner of the night, taking home a whopping eleven awards, including the coveted Best Musical. 

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the recently Tony-nominated Phillipa Soo has set the date for her final HAMILTON performance. She will reportedly leave the show after July 9th, the day that many of the current company members' contracts expire. Earlier this month, THR also reported that Lin-Manuel Miranda will leave the show that day.

The Tony Awards have announced additional presenters for the 2016 Tony Awards, which will broadcast live from the Beacon Theatre in New York City, on CBS, on Sunday, June 12th 8:00 - 11:00 p.m. (ET/PT time delay). The Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.

After much speculation, Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton will officially hit the West End next year.
