On Sunday, September 27, thousands of Broadway's biggest fans gathered at Pier 97 for what's being called the Coachella of show tunes - the first annual Elsie Fest, a day-long music festival celebrating songs from the stage and screen. Below, BroadwayWorld brings you highlights from the big day!

Mark Cortale's acclaimed Broadway @ The Nourse concert series returns to San Francisco this season with stars Darren Criss and Sutton Foster.  Hosted by Sirius XM Radio Star Seth Rudetsky whom the New York Times dubbed "The Mayor of Broadway," the popular series will return for the 2015/16 season at The Nourse Theater with two concerts. First up will be the red-hot star of TV's "Glee" and Broadway's "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," Darren Criss on October 30, followed by two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster on January 16. 

Dubbed New York City's first outdoor music festival, Elsie Fest celebrated tunes from the stage and screen just yesterday at JBL Live at Pier 97 (57th St and WestSide Highway in New York City). The lineup included broadway favorites like Aaron Tveit, Darren Criss, Lea Salonga, Laura Osnes, Seth Rudetsky, Leslie Odom, Jr., and StarKid. Did you miss the festival? Last Friday, at a restaurant in downtown Dallas, the cast of Broadway's newest hit musical, MOONSHINE: THAT HEE HAW MUSICAL, celebrated their crowd-pleasing opening night amidst cocktails and cheers. Except it wasn't the celebration of their Broadway opening night they were celebrating: it was a party celebrating the press opening of Dallas Theatre Center's exciting new local production, currently being produced in hopes of soon landing on the Great White Way. Still, with the amount of talent on stage, and the brilliant writing, staging, costumes, set design, etc., this production felt a lot more 'Big Apple' than 'Big D.'

Dallas Theater Center's World Premiere engagement of MOONSHINE: That Hee Haw Musical, a new musical comedy lovingly (and loosely) inspired by the classic TV series, began performances at Dallas Theater Center on September 2, 2015, and officially opened Friday, September 18, 2015. Performances run through October 11, 2015.
