The Douglas Morrisson Theatre continues its 2013-2014 season with James & the Giant Peach, Roald Dahl's Fantasy Adventure for Children dramatized by Richard R. George. Directed by the Dawn Monique Williams, the play features an ensemble of local performers: Janelle Aguirre, Jordan Battle, Rebecca Fox, Don Hardwick, Amir Hasan, Travis Himebaugh, Carlos Joachin, Danny Martin, Joe Metheny and Belgica Rodriguez.

Jackalope has announced the full cast for its upcoming world premiere production of EXIT STRATEGY by Ike Holter, directed by founding ensemble member Gus Menary.

Haven Theatre Chicago follows their hit run of Hedwig and the Angry Inch with The Wedding Singer, now through November 17, at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave. Based on the 1998 romantic comedy starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, The Wedding Singer is directed by Jess McLeod, music directed by Kory Danielson and choreographed by Jim Beaudry. Directed by Nancy McCullough Engle, the former Artistic Director of DMT, "110 in the Shade" features Melissa Reinertson as Lizzie Curry, Reg Clay as Starbuck, David Bauer as File, Avi Jacobson as H.C. Curry, Danny Martin as Noah Curry, James Koponen as Jimmie Curry and Emma Mercier as Snookie. Filled with achingly beautiful melodies and dynamic dance numbers, "110 in the Shade" is a heartfelt musical romance about one woman's learning to believe in herself. The show runs Nov. 14- Dec. 8, 2013.

This production is directed and choreographed by Joe Duffy with musical and vocal direction by Joseph Murphy. The show runs today, July 19, 2013 through August 10, 2013.

Jackalope Theatre Company, the Edgewater based group which cultivates theatre that manifests the adventure deeply rooted in the American mythos, has been invited to perform its acclaimed production of Long Way Go Down as part of Theater on the Lake's 61st season. Featuring music inspired by everything from Gershwin to Green Day, Musical of the Living Dead follows the lives of ten very different people trapped in a farmhouse during the breakout of a zombie apocalypse - all brought together seeking refuge from a ravenous horde of brain-eating (and dancing) zombies.
