The three one-act comedies that comprise Relatively Speaking are said to be connected by their common theme of finding humor blossoming from the family tree.  But really, don't be bothered with any themes or messages in this one.  All that matters is that playwrights Ethan Coen, Elaine May and Woody Allen, director John Turturro and a company loaded with top-notch comedy actors have whipped up a solid evening of laughs that just gets funnier and funnier as the night goes on.

Producers Julian Schlossberg and Letty Aronson present the world premiere production of RELATIVELY SPEAKING, three one-act comedies by the prolific writing trio of Ethan Coen, Elaine May and Woody Allen, and directed by John Turturro.

The world premiere of three one-act comedies, together entitled RELATIVELY SPEAKING, about mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, parents and children, written by four-time Oscar winner Ethan Coen (True Grit, Fargo), two-time Oscar nominee Elaine May (Heaven Can Wait, The Birdcage) and Woody Allen (Midnight in Paris), is currently in previews at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.

Tune in to NY-1's 'On Stage' on Saturday, September 24 at 9:30 AM or 7:30 PM EST to watch the cast of RELATIVELY SPEAKING and director John Turturro give viewers a sneak peek at the three new one-act comedies by Ethan Coen, Elaine May and Woody Allen. In this examination of marginalized people battling to have their voices heard: a white teenager dreams of being a black gangsta rapper; a wheelchair-bound kid explains how his mother smoked crack during pregnancy; a pale-skinned Bronx street vendor enrages a policeman who can't figure out what race he is; and a young Puerto Rican man on crutches rhapsodizes about his dancing talent.
