Casting Announced for Griffin Theatre's RAGTIME at The Den Theatre

Griffin Theatre Company is pleased to announce casting for its newly-orchestrated chamber version of the Tony Award-winning musical RAGTIME, reimagined by director Scott Weinstein with new orchestrations by Matt Deitchman, music direction by Jermaine Hill and Ellen Morris and choreography by William Carlos Angulo.

Adventure Stage Remounts SIX STORIES TALL, Tour to Follow

Adventure Stage Chicago (ASC), a program of Northwestern Settlement (the Settlement), presents the touring version of 2012's Six Stories Tall, written by Marco Ramirez and directed by ASC Producing Artistic Director Tom Arvetis. The production includes performances in Chicago (March 21 - April 29), the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis, TN (March 29 - 31), and The Performing Arts Center at Purchase College in New York (May 5).

Firebrand Theatre Announces Inaugural Season

Firebrand Theatre, the first musical theatre company committed to employing and empowering women by expanding opportunities on and off the stage, is pleased to announce its inaugural season, featuring two fully-produced musicals. Firebrand's 2017-18 season kicks off this fall with the Chicago premiere of LIZZIE, a rock musical based on the true-life story of accused axe-murdereress Lizzie Borden. Directed by Victoria Bussert with music direction by Andra Velis-Simon, LIZZIE feature music by Steven Cheslik-deMeyer and Alan Stevens Hewitt, lyrics by Cheslik-deMeyer and Tim Maner and book by Tim Maner.

ASC Announces Revival and Tour of Hit Production SIX STORIES TALL

Artemisia Presents their First Feminist Shakespeare - SHREWISH

Shakespeare's angel-faced gang tames a bad boy Kate in this sassy, gender-swapping version of Taming of the Shrew. SHREWISH opens November 4 and runs through November 20th at the beautiful Edge Theater, 5451 North Broadway, in Edgewater.  Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 6:00 pm.  There is a special, one-time only matinee on Saturday, November 5th at 2 pm.  Tickets are available at artemisiatheatre.org.

Theo Ubique Forced to Cancel RENT Extension

Due to a forthcoming national tour of RENT, Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre has been informed that it is unable to extend its critically acclaimed, sold out production of Jonathan Larson's 'Rent.'

Theo Ubique Extends RENT Through May

After selling out its originally scheduled run within a week of opening night, Theo Ubique's production of Jonathan Larson's musical Rent will be extended for an additional four weeks. Tickets for the added performances are now on sale.

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble to Present WOMEN AT WAR, 11/5-12/6

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble (RTE), Chicago's only Equity theatre dedicated to producing new work with women at the core, announces the first production of their twentieth anniversary season, the world premiere of WOMEN AT WAR, written by RTE member Megan Carney and directed by Artistic Director Tara Mallen. The production runs November 5-December 6, 2014 at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, 5779 N. Ridge Avenue in Chicago.
