Manhattan Theatre Club is pleased to announce guests for the upcoming sessions of After Words, the popular discussion panels held after selected Saturday matinees at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). The latest offering will focus on GOOD PEOPLE, the world premiere play by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire, directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan, which begins previews tomorrow, Tuesday, February 8.

Manhattan Theatre Club's New York premiere of THE WHIPPING MAN, the acclaimed new play by Matthew Lopez, directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes, announced today that due to popular demand, the limited engagement has been extended for a third time with tickets now on sale through Sunday, April 10.

Following the success of last summer's Shakespeare in the Park productions of The Merchant of Venice and The Winter's Tale, The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) will once again stage two Shakespeare plays in repertory, running June 6 through July 31 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Daniel Sullivan, who recently directed Twelfth Night and The Merchant of Venice in the Park, will direct ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL and David Esbjornson, who directed Much Ado About Nothing in the Park, will direct MEASURE FOR MEASURE. Bank of America returns as lead sponsor of Shakespeare in the Park 2011, supporting The Public's mission to keep Shakespeare in the Park free.

WHIPPING MAN Extends Again Thru 3/27

The Manhattan Theatre Club New York premiere of THE WHIPPING MAN, the acclaimed new play by Matthew Lopez, directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes, announced today that due to popular demand, the limited engagement has been extended again with tickets now on sale through Sunday, March 27. This marks the second extension for THE WHIPPING MAN as the show prepares to open today, Tuesday February 1, at MTC at New York City Center-Stage I (131 West 55th Street).

Hamingson), Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel announced a final extension today of Daniel Sullivan's critically acclaimed production of THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, starring Al Pacino as Shylock and Lily Rabe as Portia. Due to a film commitment in Mr. Pacino's schedule, THE MERCHANT OF VENICE will go on hiatus following the performance on Sunday, January 9 (when it was originally scheduled to close) and will resume performances on Tuesday, February 1 for an additional three week run through Sunday, February 20 at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 W. 44th Street). DEBUT OF THE MONTH: MERCHANT's Heather Lind

This month, Broadway World is showcasing actor Heather Lind, who is reprising her role as Shylock's daughter, Jessica, in The Merchant of Venice. She previously took on this role when she was cast in the Shakespeare in the Park production this summer. Lind graduated in 2005 with a B.A. in Theatre Performance & Philosophy from Fordham College at Lincoln Center and received an M.F.A from NYU earlier this year.
