Willens' FAMILY DINNER Opens Off-Broadway Today, 6/21

FAMILY DINNER, a new play by Michele Willens, will be given its world-premiere Off-Broadway this summer in a production directed by Jamibeth Margolis at the Beckett Theatre on Theater Row (410 W. 42 St.) in Manhattan, with previews beginning June 17 prior to an official press opening June 21.

The José Iturbi International Music Competition awards over $100,000 in cash prizes includes two first place prizes of $10,000 in each category (one for a pianist and one for a singer). In addition to the traditional prizes awarded, there are two People's Choice prizes of $5,000, which are voted on during the final competition round by the 'live' audience.

Producers Philip Morgaman, Emily Miller and Frankie Grande announce the kickoff of a yearlong celebration of prolific playwright and director Garson Kanin beginning July 30th with Dreyfus in Rehearsal. The play, originally written by Jean-Claude Grumberg and adapted by Kanin, marks the first production honoring the late playwright. Additionally, the yearlong tribute will include readings of Kanin's The Rat Race and Peccadillo.
