Hatton and Stevenson Extend In West End WICKED!

WICKED, the award-winning classic musical that tells the incredible untold story of the Witches of Oz, is pleased to announce that the current acclaimed stars, Emma Hatton (Elphaba) and Savannah Stevenson (Glinda), have both extended their contracts and will continue with the long-running hit into 2016.

Segerstrom Center Welcomes the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Tonight

The renowned Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center returns to Segerstrom Center for the Arts in a remarkable program titled Passionate Piano Quartets, pairing three works by Schumann, Brahms and the rarely performed Mahler Piano Quartet, which is the composer's only surviving instrumental chamber work, written while still a teenager. Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center is soon embarking on a North American tour that will include 11 cities and their visit to Segerstrom Center tonight, April 15 in Samueli Theater will be the quartet's sole West Coast appearance.

Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Members to Perform Romantic Piano Quartets

The Chamber Music Society of Detroit presents an all-star cast of four distinguished musicians – violinist Daniel Hope, violist Paul Newbauer, cellist David Finckel and pianist Wu Han – coming together for an evening of piano quartets Saturday, April 11 at 8 PM. The concert is part of a twelve-concert U.S. tour featuring artist members of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and includes quartets by three Romantic masters, Gustav Mahler, Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms. The evening also includes a pre-concert recital by duo pianists Yuki and Tomoko Mack beginning at 6:45 PM which is open to ticket-holders free of charge. The Mack sisters will perform music of Dvo?ák, Liszt, Piazzolla, Smetana and Gravilin.

Cooperstown Festival to Host 'Three Faces of Romanticism' Concert, 4/26

The Cooperstown Summer Music Festival, under the artistic direction of flutist Linda Chesis, presents Three Faces of Romanticism on Sunday, April 26 at 4 pm at the Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown. The concert features Ms. Chesis, Nicholas Canellakis, cello; and Roman Rabinovich, piano, performing works by Beethoven, Reinecke and Rachmaninoff.

San Antonio Symphony Announces 2015 Strauss Festival Lineup; Runs 1/4-2/22

The San Antonio Symphony along with numerous festival partners is poised to begin its fifth annual city-wide winter composer festival, this year focusing on the late-Romantic German composer Richard Strauss. A series of four concerts plus a unique opera experience forms the core of Soundstreams' 2014/15 concert series. The events, which include several world premieres, feature collaborations between Canadian composers and performers and their counterparts from the U.K., United States, Russia, Brazil and Argentina. On September 20, Maestro Sebastian Lang-Lessing and four-time Grammy® winner Renee Fleming will open the San Antonio Symphony's 75th Anniversary season at The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. Ms. Fleming wowed the crowds at this year's Super Bowl with her extraordinary rendition of the "The Star-Spangled Banner." She will perform Four Last Songs by Richard Strauss, and music from Canteloube and Delibes, in a concert complemented by sparkling works for orchestra by Strauss and Ravel. The exquisite beauty of Renee Fleming's singing of this glorious music will radiate throughout the hall at the new Tobin Center.

Virtuoso violinist Daniel Hope - described as 'adventurous and brilliant' by The New York Times and 'a force to be reckoned with' by Gramophone - will lead a chamber orchestra of Academy faculty and Fellows in a program of works by Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber, Alfred Schnittke, Erwin Schulhoff, and Max Richter beginning at 8 pm on Saturday, July 5, in Hahn Hall. Mr. Hope will lead from the violin in performances of Biber's Passacaglia, Schnittke's A Paganini, Schulhoff's Solo Sonata, and Mr. Richter's enthralling Recomposed: Vivaldi's Four Seasons - a reimagining of the well-known Baroque masterpiece. Tickets cost $50.
