Good morning, BroadwayWorld! This weekend's big news: Lynn Nottage's SWEAT begins previews on Broadway this weekend, and NEWSIES seizes the day with an encore screening at cinemas across the country!

Producer Jeffrey Seller has announced Tony Award nominee Daniel Breaker will join the Chicago company of Hamilton as Aaron Burr. He will begin performances on Tuesday, April 11 at The PrivateBank Theatre in Chicago.

Williamstown Theatre Festival has announced that the annual WTF Gala will be held this year at Tao Downtown in New York City (92 Ninth Avenue) on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 6:30 PM.

SWEAT, a new play by Lynn Nottage directed by Kate Whoriskey, just opened last night and is running through Sunday, December 4 at The Public Theater. 

The Public Theater presents THE TOTAL BENT, with text by Stew and music by Stew and Heidi Rodewald, the team behind the Tony Award-wining musical Passing Strange, now through through Sunday, June 19. Following multiple sold out engagements, Charlie Rosen's Broadway Big Band returns to the intimate Manhattan venue 54 Below tonight, May 18th to continue an official residence for 2015.

As part of New York Voices, the artist commissioning program of Joe's Pub at The Public, singer-songwriter Dawn Landes (music and lyrics) and director Daniel Goldstein (book) bring forth a new musical called ROW - the heartbreaking but ultimately uplifting story of Tori Murden McClure, the first woman to row solo across the Atlantic Ocean. On June 21 and 22, Landes, with Xanthe Elbrick (Tori), Stephen Bogardus (Mac) and more, will perform a concert version of ROW at Joe's Pub (425 Lafayette, NYC).

Following multiple sold out engagements, Charlie Rosen's Broadway Big Band returns to the intimate Manhattan venue 54 Below on Monday May 18th to continue an official residence for 2015. Tony Award nominee Bryce Pinkham (Gentlemen's Guide..., The Heidi Chronichles), Janet Krupin (If/Then, Bring It On) Ciara Renee (Pippin, Big Fish) make their Broadway Big Band debuts, joing a starry list of performers.
