Berkeley Repertory Theatre presents a new adaptation of Sinclair Lewis' novel, It Can't Happen Here.

Gloucester Stage Company continues the 37th season of producing professional theater on Cape Ann with Matthew Spangler and Benjamin Evett's Albatross opening on June 16 and running through July 3 at 267 East Main Street, Gloucester, MA.

Working Theater, the Off-Broadway company that in 2013 staged a production (about undocumented workers crossing the border to find work in this country) in the confines of an actual 48' trailer truck, will once again shed a unique light on a group of individuals rarely portrayed on stage. Under the direction of Artistic Producing Director Mark Plesent, the company will present THE BLOCK - a new play about community in the Bronx - which is no longer burning, but where life on the streets is as brutal as ever.

Written by Dan Hoyle, directed by Tamilla Woodard and developed with Maureen Towey & Tamilla Woodard, the production begins previews today, May 28th with an official opening on Tuesday, June 7th at 7:00PM. Berkeley Rep announced today it will present the world premiere of John Leguizamo: Latin History for Dummies. Written and performed by Leguizamo and directed by Berkeley Rep's Michael Leibert Artistic Director Tony Taccone, this limited engagement will run Friday, July 1-Sunday, August 14 in the newly renovated Peet's Theatre. At the beginning of his one-man show, EACH AND EVERY THING, when Dan Hoyle makes the mandatory 'turn off your cell phone' announcement, he jokes that by the end of the show you might want to just throw the darn thing away. You may scoff. But he's right. After 80ish minutes of watching Hoyle tell his own somewhat autobiographical story of finding connection and community, you might want to wait a while before turning your phone on again. You might decide you don't need your phone welded to your body 24/7. You might even decide to leave it at home once in a while.

This holiday season, PlayMakers Repertory Company, the professional theater in residence at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, will fly audiences to Neverland in "Peter and the Starcatcher," a Peter Pan prequel for the entire family. The show will run Nov. 18-Dec. 12, with special events associated with the production beginning Nov. 9.
