La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club has announced the return of SQUIRTS. The lineup will feature appearances and performances by Lady Bunny, Chiquitita, RuAfza, Mei Ann Teo, Ife Olujobi, and Deepali Zeer, among others. The festival will also include tributes to Agosto Machado and Diana Oh.
Each person/duo will be awarded a $20,000 unrestricted grant in addition to a $2,500 Saw Island Foundation Recording Grant to support the production of new demo recordings that better represent the artist’s vision.

Each year, La MaMa’s Squirts gathers the most exciting voices from New York City’s queer performance world across the generations. This year, confronting the nationwide legislative assault on trans people and drag performance, Squirts puts a heavy concentration into NYC’s drag and nightlife scenes from the 90s to today.
