Ladies of THE ACTRESS Get Costume Fittings From Playwright Carrie Robbins

Dana Smith-Croll of The Actors Company Theatre & Jenne Vath (NYInnovative Theatre Award Nomination) join Mikel Sarah Lambert, former member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and Drama Desk nominee for the Mint Theatre's revival of D.H. Lawrence's The Daughter-in-Law, in THE ACTRESS, a new one act play by Carrie Robbins, to be presented at the Hudson Guild Theater on August 22, 24 & 27, 2016.  THE ACTRESS is directed by Paul Dobie and will be part of Thespis Productions 2016 Summerfest Theater Festival.  Days of the Giants LLC will co-produce.

Full Cast Announced for Touring Production of LADY CHATTERLEY'S LOVER

Sheffield Theatres and English Touring Theatre today announce full casting for Phillip Breen's adaptation of D.H. Lawrence's classic novel LADY CHATTERLEY'S LOVER, which opens at the Crucible on 26 September before a UK tour to Oxford, York, Malvern, Salisbury, Brighton and Cambridge. Breen directs a cast including Hedydd Dylan as Lady Chatterley and Jonah Russellas Mellors. The company is completed by Aretha Ayeh, Will Irvine, Ciaran McIntyre, Eugene O'Hare, David Osmond, Rachel Sanders and Alice Selwyn.

Steven Hauck and Mikel Sarah Lambert to Appear in THE ACTRESS

?Broadway actor Steven Hauck will appear along with Mikel Sarah Lambert, former member of the Royal Shakespeare Company and Drama Desk nominee for the Mint Theatre's revival of D.H. The Harwood Museum of Art Features Rediscovered Art Treasures

The exhibition Mabel Dodge Luhan & Company: American Moderns and the West, hosted by The Harwood Museum of Art and co-curated by MaLin Wilson- Powell and Dr. Lois Rudnick, has uncovered some spectacular stories and coincidences that leave one wondering if Mabel herself was behind the scenes making things happen. Amongst the stories emerge three rediscovered art treasures connected to Mabel. How they were discovered and the path the pieces took to make it to this amazing exhibition is short of miraculous, and to hear how, from Wilson-Powell and Rudnick, is a journey in and of itself.

Exciting New Shows At Sheffield Theatres

The new season at Sheffield Theatres includes an exciting line-up of West End and Broadway musicals, witty comedy, chart-topping music, poignant drama and family fun. Booking for the new shows will open to Centre Stage Members on Saturday 11 June and to the general public on Saturday 18 June.

Tapestry Opera to Stage World Premiere of ROCKING HORSE WINNER

Tapestry Opera's exciting recent momentum continues this spring with another world premiere, ROCKING HORSE WINNER, commissioned in partnership with Scottish Opera. This modern adaptation of D.H. Lawrence's masterful short story-an intimate psychological look at love, luck and greed-comes to life with a libretto by Dora Mavor Moore Award-winning playwright Anna Chatterton and music by Irish-Scottish composer Gareth Williams. Daniel Evans Announces Final Season as Artistic Director of Sheffield Theatres

Daniel Evans today announces his final season as Sheffield Theatres' Artistic Director, including the eagerly anticipated news of the Crucible's Christmas show, Irving Berlin's whip-cracking musical Annie Get Your Gun. The season also includes two world premieres on the Crucible stage - an adaptation of a classic novel and an exciting new musical set in Sheffield. A poignant moment in the city's history is told on the Studio stage along with a heart-warming family tale for the festive period.

Ecce Ensemble to Premiere SWITCH Opera, Today

Cambridge, MA (FOR RELEASE 1.11.16) — As the 2015-16 contemporary music ensemble-in-residence at Cambridge's Le Laboratoire, the Ecce Ensemble premieres Switch, a contemporary opera written and composed by John Aylward, directed by Laine Rettmer (Loft Opera), and conducted by Jean-Philippe Wurtz (Ensemble Linea). Featuring two vocalists—Amanda DeBoer Bartlett (soprano) and Mikhail Smigelskii (bass-baritone)—backed by the Ecce Ensemble, Switch explores the relationship between an artist and his muse. In addition to two consecutive weekends of performances, Ecce hosts two free, complementary events open to the public at Le Lab: Re-Imagining Contemporary Opera, an artist talk with Aylward and Rettmer on February 3rd at 6:30 p.m.; and Composers' Reading Session, a workshop/presentation of young local composers' chamber works led by Wurtz on February 15th at 12:00 p.m.

Undermain Theatre Names James Tait Black Award Winner

The Undermain Theatre is proud to announce that playwright Gordon Dahlquist's play, Tomorrow Come Today, has won the prestigious international James Tait Black prize for drama.  This is Britain's oldest literary award. The world premiere of Tomorrow Come Today, directed by Katherine Owens, was developed and presented at the Undermain in the fall of 2014. Previous winners of this award include Zadie Smith, Cormac McCarthy, Graham Greene, Aldous Huxley, Robert Graves, and D.H. Lawrence.

Mabel Dodge Luhan and Company Coming to Taos

The Harwood Museum of Art in Taos, New Mexico announces one of its largest and most important traveling exhibitions, coming in the spring of 2016. The exhibition will be the first to showcase the impact of Mabel Dodge Luhan (1879-1962), and her circle of artist, writer, and activist friends, on shaping American Modernism. The exhibition is an exploration Mabel Dodge Luhan's life and influence, within the context of early 20th century American history and the Southwest, and an exploration of how the tiny multicultural community of Taos became an important center of the modernist art movement.
