As scooped first by BroadwayWorld.com earlier this week here, the hit Broadway musical BEAUTIFUL is headed to the big screen. Sony pictures confirmed today that 'The film version of 'Beautiful' will be produced by Tom Hanks; Gary Goetzman, a producer whose movie credits include 'Mamma Mia!' in 2008; and Paul Blake, the lead producer of 'Beautiful' on Broadway. Douglas McGrath, who wrote the book for the stage production, will work on the screenplay.'

The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, together with Florida Theatrical Association and Broadway Across America, has unveiled the lineup of shows for the 2015/2016 FAIRWINDS Broadway in Orlando season.

Broadway's hottest new shows will be on stage in Charlotte next season in the 2015-2016 PNC Broadway Lights lineup. From contemporary mega hits like Matilda The Musical, Beautiful- The Carole King Musical and If/Then to a beloved favorite, The Sound of Music, the season will mesmerize audiences with one hit after another.
