Amas Musical Theatre in celebration of its 50th season, will present Stealing Freedom: The True, Heroic Life of The Extraordinary Captain Smalls, (formerly "Charleston Harbor") with book, music & lyrics by Scott Sublett, the third of four new musicals in development included in this year's "Dare to Be Different" series. Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations plays a strictly limited pre-Broadway engagement beginning tonight, October 11 - November 17 at Toronto's Princess of Wales Theatre following this summer's highly acclaimed engagements at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C. and the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles. Media night in Toronto is Tuesday October 16, 2018.

Ain't Too Proud has found its home on Broadway! Producers Ira Pittelman and Tom Hulce have announced today that the new musical Ain't Too Proud – The Life and Times of the Temptations will bring the incredible true story of the greatest R&B group of all time to Broadway in Spring 2019 at the legendary Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). Additional information will be announced shortly.

The pre-Broadway run of “Ain't Too Proud—The Life and Times of The Temptations” at Center Theatre Group/Ahmanson Theatre will begin performances on Tuesday, August 21. The opening is set for August 24 at 8 p.m., and performances will continue through September 30, 2018.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has announced that Ain't Too Proud-The Life and Times of the Temptations, which premiered at Berkeley Repertory Theatre, has broken the single-week box office record for the week ending Sunday, July 22, with a gross of $955,660.50. The critically acclaimed production, that ended its sold-out, five-week, pre-Broadway run on Sunday, broke the previous record of $916,877.00, held by the Kennedy Center's own 2011 hit production of Follies.

STEW & THE NEGRO PROBLEM - the powerhouse indie rock band fronted by longtime collaborators Stew and Heidi Rodewald - will perform a one-night-only concert at THE TOTAL BENT/NATIVE SONG DOUBLE RECORD RELEASE PARTY, featuring selections from the duo's two most recent recordings, on Monday, June 18 at Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker St.) in Manhattan.  Doors open at 7 pm for the concert beginning at 8 pm.

Bebe Neuwirth (two-time Tony and Emmy award winner; Chicago, A Chorus Line, Sweet Charity,'Cheers,' 'Frasier') will host the Chita Rivera Awards, taking place at The Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 W. 45th Street) on Monday, September 11 at 7:30 pm, it was announced today by Nikki Feirt Atkins, founder and producing artistic director of American Dance Machine of the 21st Century.

Producer Lawrence Rosner has announced, today, Attack of the Elvis Impersonators, the campy musical comedy that leaves you howling for more, with book, music and lyrics by Lory Lazarus, will play its final performance Sunday evening, July 30, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row.

'Woody - A New Fairy Tale' was chosen as an Official Selection of the 2017 New York Musical Festival. Readings will be held on Monday, July 10th at 1:30 PM, Friday, July 14th at 3:30 PM, and 11:30 AM on Monday, July 17th at Playwrights Horizons Rehearsal Studio.
