Project Y Theatre Company presents the World Premiere of TRUTH/DARE by Emmy nominee Tori Keenan-Zelt. The play, which was selected for Kilroy's Long List in 2014, will be directed by Andrew William Smith. Previews begin May 30 at IRT Theatre in the West Village, with opening slated for Saturday, June 2.

Founding Executive Director Kathy Evans announced the 19 writers of 9 new musicals in this summer's Rhinebeck Writers Retreat. Spin!), Jahna Ferron-Smith (Ensemble Studio Theatre's Youngblood), Jon Kern (Modern Terrorism), Dan McCabe (Christina Martinez), Mara Nelson-Greenberg (Do You Feel Anger?), Erica Saleh (Channel Zero, Wisdom of the Crowd) and Amy Staats (Eddie and Dave).

Rain and Zoe Save the World by New York-based playwright Crystal Skillman, recently named the winning script by a national panel of judges for the 2018 Earth Matters on Stage (EMOS) New Play Competition, opened this weekend. 

On Monday, April 23, TILL SOON, ANNE(book and lyrics by Christine Toy Johnson, music by Bobby Cronin) will have its first public presentation, directed by Lisa Rothe (HOLD THESE TRUTHS). Jeremy Robin Lyons (THE MAD ONES) music directs.

Twelve accomplished artists - 6 choreographers and 6 poets - will be randomly paired into two-person teams and asked to create new collaborative works for Madame's Mashups - Choreographers and Poets. The works will premiere February 15 at 9:30pm at The Duplex Cabaret Theater. The event is intended to be the first in a series of 'Mashup' shows from Madame Arts Co (Drew Fornarola and Tyler Spicer, co-artistic directors), which also produces the award winning avant-garde variety show Madame's Soiree, now in its third season, and organizes the Denovan Residencies for Cabaret at The Duplex.

The new musical POSTCARD AMERICAN TOWN will have its first industry presentation in New York City on January 12th. This timely new musical features a book by Crystal Skillman (Geek, Mary & Max) and music and lyrics by Lynne Shankel (Allegiance, Cry- Baby, bare: The Musical, Altar Boyz), with direction by Stafford Arima (Allegiance, Carrie, bare: the Musical, Altar Boyz), musical direction by Michael Gacetta (Groundhog Day, Matilda) and music supervision by Mary-Mitchell Campbell (Mean Girls, Tuck Everlasting, Finding Neverland, Company).

Big Brother Productions presents an industry reading of MARY & MAX, a new musical based on the 2009 Australian claymation film about two unlikely pen pals, on Sunday, November 12th, at 3pm.

After a very successful reading this summer at the Alliance Theatre produced by Broadway Dreams Foundation, MARY & MAX will have its first 29-hour reading in New York City.
