Crystal Pite & Jonathon Young Return With World Premiere Of Kidd Pivot's REVISOR

DanceHouse will present the world premiere of Kidd Pivot's Revisor, February 20-23, 2019 at 8pm at the Vancouver Playhouse (now sold out). In their third collaboration, Kidd Pivot Artistic Director Crystal Pite and Electric Company Theatre Co-Founder Jonathon Young join forces to create a wildly innovative dance/theatre hybrid, mixing classic farce and the forces of radical change to craft a fizzing concoction that confounds expectations and inverts the official order. The bold physicality of Pite's choreography for eight dancers embodies the eviscerating wit of Young's script, recorded by some of Canada's finest actors.

Juilliard Spring Dances Features Three Masterworks

Juilliard Dance, led by director Alicia Graf Mack, continues its season with Spring Dances, a repertory program featuring Martha Graham's The Rite of Spring, Bill T. Jones' D-Man in the Waters (Part 1); and Alejandro Cerrudo's Little mortal jump.

The Joyce Presents HUBBARD STREET DANCE CHICAGO

The Joyce Theater Foundation (Linda Shelton, Executive Director) is pleased to announce the return of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago (HSDC), from March 6-17 at The Joyce Theater. The company makes its first return to The Joyce since 2015, and each week of this extended engagement is dedicated to works by in-demand choreographers Ohad Naharin and Crystal Pite respectively.

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago returns with two thrilling programs of contemporary dance. The first week features 'Decadance/Chicago,' an evening-length performance combines excerpts from works by Ohad Naharin which were arranged specifically for Hubbard Street by the world renowned Israeli choreographer. The second week celebrates Crystal Pite, one of today's most sought after and inventive choreographers, with three of her most exciting works: 'A Picture of You Falling,' 'The Other You,' and 'Grace Engine'.

Karen Kain to Direct New SWAN LAKE

Karen Kain, Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada, today announced that she will direct and stage a new Swan Lake for the 2019/20 season in celebration of her 50th anniversary with the company. National Ballet of Canada's Marjory Fielding Retires After 24 Years

Karen Kain, Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada announced today that after 24 years of service, Wardrobe Supervisor Marjory Fielding is retiring from the National Ballet. Ms. Fielding's final day at the National Ballet will be January 11, 2019.

The Royal Opera House Announces 2019 Lineup

Co-curators: choreographer Stefanie Nelson of Stefanie Nelson Dancegroup and bestselling author David Shenk (The Forgetting) present the launch of a new festival devoted to memory and forgetting. The inaugural event will feature Stefanie Nelson's A, MY NAME IS…, a dance piece inspired by a family experience with dementia, using several short films from David Shenk's Living With Alzheimer's Film Project. It will take place on January 23, 2019, at Aaron Davis Hall at The City College of New York (129 Convent Avenue at West 135th Street), with performances at 11:00 am and 6:30 pm. Both shows will be followed by a discussion with invited panelists including Meredith Wong from CaringKind's Connect2Culture program, and a reception (evening show only). Juilliard Dance Presents New Dances: Edition 2018

Juilliard Dance, under the leadership of Alicia Graf Mack, opens its season with New Dances: Edition 2018 featuring four world-premiere dances by innovative choreographers Marcus Jarrell Willis (whose dance features the first-year class); Nelly van Bommel (featuring the second-year class); Juilliard alumnus Peter Chu (featuring the third-year class); and Stefanie Batten Bland (featuring the fourth-year class). Each choreographer works with one of the classes for the semester creating the new work; all Juilliard's dancers participate in the New Dances program.

Joffrey Ballet Announces Winners of Winning Works

The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet, announces the recipients of the ninth annual Winning Works Choreographic Competition: Tommie-Waheed Evans, Marissa Osato, Xiang Xu and Edgar Zendejas. This announcement follows a national call for ALAANA (African, Latinx, Asian, Arab and Native American) artists to submit applications, which began in June. The choreographers' world premiere works will be showcased on the members of the Joffrey Studio Company and the Joffrey Academy Trainee Program.

The National Ballet Of Canada's First Performance In Russia To Be Livestreamed

Karen Kain, Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada and Barry Hughson, Executive Director today announced that the company's first performance in Moscow will be livestreamed across Russia on Yandex. The free livestream will take place on October 15, 2018 direct from The Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre in Moscow where the National Ballet will perform a mixed programme to a sold-out audience as part of Diana Vishneva's Context festival.

On Thursday, October 25, 2018, at 7:30pm in Alice Tully Hall, violinist Robert Mealy directs Juilliard415 in "Chaos and Order: The Dance Music of Jean-Philippe Rameau" with new choreography created by Juilliard dance students Ethan Colangelo, Maddie Hanson, and Moscelyn ParkeHarrison. Building on the success of last season's production of Hippolyte et Aricie, this program celebrates the kinetic energy and musical invention of Rameau's dance music and includes his striking overtures to Nais, Les fetes de Polymnie, and Zoroastre.
