Antaeus Theatre Company's HEDDA GABLER Begins Today

As it prepares to move to a newly renovated cultural arts complex in Glendale this fall, the Antaeus Theatre Company announces its final production in the North Hollywood space it has called home since 2007: A fully partner cast production of Hedda Gabler, Henrik Ibsen's classic drama of passion and desperation, begins previews today, May 26 with press openings (one for each cast) set for June 2 and June 3. Steven Robman directs.

Corky Hale presents I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU - The Life and Lyrics of Al Dubin, which opened May 13 at the Montalban Theatre, 1615 Vine St. in Hollywood. This new musical features lyrics by Al Dubin, music mostly by Harry Warren, book by Jerry Leichtling and Arlene Sarner, and musical direction by Gerald Sternbach. TV: Sneak Peek at Rehearsals and Behind-the-Scenes of I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU

Producer Corky Hale's I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU - The Life and Lyrics of Al Dubin, features lyrics by Al Dubin, most music by Harry Warren, a book by Jerry Leichtling and Arlene Sarner, and musical direction by Gerald Sternbach.  The production is directed and choreographed by  Kay Cole.  BroadwayWorld TV's own LA on-air Host Michael Sterling was invited to take a sneak peek at rehearsals last week and interview some of the show's stars and creative team.  

L.A.'s Australian Theatre Company to Present DOUBLE FEATURE at Matrix Theatre in June

Head over to the Matrix Theatre in June for a mini Australian theater festival, when L.A.'s Australian Theatre Company presents a 'Double Feature' of two celebrated Australian plays that were made into movies and ATC's second annual free reading series - all over the course of 3-1/2 weeks. Opening with Speaking in Tongues by Andrew Bovell on June 6 and the U.S. premiere of Ruben Guthrie by Brendan Cowell on June 7, performances of the two plays continue in repertory through June 28, with a free 'Works by Women' reading series taking place every Wednesday evening.

BWW Review: DINNER AT HOME BETWEEN DEATHS - Not the Most Delicious Meal

Indie Chi Productions presents the world premiere of playwright Andrea Lepcio's DINNER AT HOME BETWEEN DEATHS a bit undercooked; with lighting cues missed, the stumbling over lines, and an integral plot incident causing unintentional laughter. Stuart Ross does smartly direct his committed, obliging cast at a fast clip in this 90-minute black comedy.

Rubicon Theatre Company to Stage World Premiere Adaptation of Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Rubicon Theatre celebrates the holidays with the company's first presentation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, a World Premiere adaptation written by Producing Artistic Director Karyl Lynn Burns and directed by Brian McDonald. Rubicon's A Christmas Carol features a 24-member cast (the largest ensemble since the company's production of Fiddler on the Roof and the largest ever for a play).
