At 8:30 AM comes the announcement any theatre fan has been awaiting all year for...This Year's Tony Nominations! Tony-Winner Mary Louise Parker announces the nominations along with Bruce Willis, who's soon-to-be making his Broadway debut this fall in a new stage adaptation of the Stephen King novel, Misery. A dance legend talks AN AMERICAN IN PARIS with its director/choreographer!

Producers for the critically acclaimed new Broadway musical AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, announced a National Tour for the 2016-17 season.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Berkeley Repertory Theatre will kick off its 48th season with the world premiere of Amelie, an inventive and captivating new musical directed by Tony Award winner Pam MacKinnon (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?) written by Craig Lucas (Prelude to a Kiss). BroadwayWorld has just confirmed that Les Miserables star Samantha Barks recently led a recent NYC workshop of the new musical. Casting for the Berkeley run has not yet been announced. A dance legend talks AN AMERICAN IN PARIS with its director/choreographer!

  Sundance Institute today announced the nine projects selected from 827 submissions for its 2015 Theatre Lab at Sundance Resort in Utah, July 6-26. Under the supervision of Artistic Director Philip Himberg and Producing Director Christopher Hibma, the Lab is the centerpiece of the Institute's year-round work with the theatre community and is one of 24 residency Labs the Institute hosts each year for independent artists in theatre, film, new media and episodic content.

George Street Playhouse and Artistic Director David Saint have announced that a new musical, Ernest Shackleton Loves Me, will close their current season, bowing tonight, April 22 and running through May 17, 2015.

The new Broadway musical An American in Paris opened on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Palace Theatre (Broadway at 47th Street). Directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, it is inspired by the Academy-Award winning film. An American In Paris brings this classic tale to Broadway for the first time with music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and a book by Tony nominee and Pulitzer Prize finalist Craig Lucas. Directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, it is inspired by the Academy-Award winning film. An American In Paris brings this classic tale to Broadway for the first time with music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and a book by Tony nominee and Pulitzer Prize finalist Craig Lucas. Dixon Place's new commission THE FLATIRON HEX, starring Award-winning puppeteer/performance & visual artist James Godwin, will have its world premiere on Friday, May 15th. Godwin's previous collaborations include Julie Taymor, David Bowie, the Muppets & even Aerosmith. A 2014 Jim Henson Award recipient, Godwin utilizes remarkable puppets, masks & mystical neo-noir visuals to tell a story set in a parallel, near-future NYC filled with ghosts, elemental spirits & evil demigods. THE FLATIRON HEX will play six performances only -- May 15th, 16th, 22th, 23th, 29th, and 30th at 7:30PM, at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street).
