Asolo Rep Presents The World Premiere Of JUNGLE BOOK

Asolo Repertory Theatre proudly presents the final production of its 2017-18 season: the world premiere of JUNGLE BOOK, a boldly re-imagined family friendly stage adaptation of Nobel Prize-winner Rudyard Kipling's beloved classic. From the creators of Asolo Rep's 2017 hit production of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea, JUNGLE BOOK previews June 6 - 8, opens June 9 and runs through June 24 in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts. It is recommended for ages 5 and up and will be presented by Kidoons and WYRD Productions in association with the 20K Collective, produced by Jeff Lord, co-created and co-directed by Craig Francis and Rick Miller.

Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California, presents a new family-friendly production of Jungle Book.  Adapted from the works of Rudyard Kipling, this version is written and directed by Craig Francis and Rick Miller and is performed Tuesday, July 17 through Sunday, July 29 (press opening July 18).

 In celebration of Asolo Rep's world premiere of JUNGLE BOOK this June, the theatre will present an Artist in the Jungle art contest. The theatre has collaborated with three local artists who have created artwork especially for this contest. February's artwork was created by Michael White, March's piece was created by Linda Richichi, and April's art was created by Jen Emm.

Asolo Rep proudly presents the final production of its 2016-17 season: TWENTY THOUSAND LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA, the stunning new theatrical re-imagination of Jules Verne's classic deep sea tale created by Craig Francis and Rick Miller, who will direct the production, presented by Canada's family-focused entertainment production company Kidoons and WYRD Productions and produced by Jeff Lord.  TWENTY THOUSAND LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA comes to life on stage by way of visually striking multimedia storytelling, with vivid projections that will take the audience on the voyage of a lifetime. Previews are Wednesday, June 7 and Thursday, June 8 at 7pm, opening night is Friday, June 9 at 7pm and the production runs through Saturday, July 1 in the Mertz Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts.

This 2016-2017 season, eight professional theatre companies at the core of the local indie scene, satisfy a vast range of tastes and interests with stories that stimulate imagination, understanding, discussion and change. English-speaking audiences can become acquainted with French playwrights or young students can take their first step in a life-long appreciation of theatre. Homegrown plays, lauded nationally and abroad, are presented by some companies while others play cultural ambassadors and tour their offerings inside and outside the province. As New York City's premier theater for kids and families, The New Victory Theater announces its 2016-17 season. From September 30, 2016 through May 21, 2017, the New Victory 2016-17 season will feature two world premieres, six U.S. premieres and six NY premieres among its 15 productions from 11 different countries around the world.
