A deviously delicious Broadway horror comedy rock sci-fi musical, Little Shop of Horrors has devoured the hearts of theatre-goers for over 30 years. Sol Children Theatre will present this beloved cult classic, created by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (Disney's The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin), from October 4th through October 20th at Sol Theatre in Boca Raton. The production will feature a roster of talented young actors and Sol Troupe members.

Slow Burn Theatre Company brings this cautionary tale of a musical to life with high-caliber performers, beautiful staging, and well-crafted production values.

Based on the story by Robert Louis Stevenson, the musical follows the kind and passionate Dr. Henry Jekyll who, testing his experimental treatments on himself, accidentally unleashes his inner demons to transform into the degenerate Mr. Hyde. The musical had a record-breaking Broadway run and seen more than 100 global productions with 32 international recordings in 28 different languages.

Stage Door Theatre's first production at Lauderhill Performing Arts Center (LPAC), their brand new, state-of-the-art home, will be the multiple Tony Award-winning La Cage Aux Folles.   The production will open on August 31st and run through September 23rd.   (The theatre will celebrate the move to their new home at a Gala Party on September 1st - details to be announced.)

Marcie Gorman, Executive Producer & Artistic Director for MNM Theatre Company, today reminded lovers of musical theatre, adult comedy and snarky puppets that there are only five more performances to see Avenue Q, which runs through this Sunday, June 10, at the Kravis Center's Rinker Playhouse. Evening Star Productions will kick off their newest project, Sol After Dark, with a one-act adaptation of William Shakespeare's Macbeth. The production, which will run for just three days from October 26th to 28th is the first of what Evening Star's Artistic Director Rosalie Grant says will be something a little off the beaten theatre path for those hungry for a different bite of theatre.

Juliet Among the Changelings will feature an entirely local cast and design team, including puppet design by Jim Hammond and Ronni Gerstel of the Puppet Network.

It seems a wise and refreshing choice for a theatre company known for producing thought-provoking and challenging works to decidedly chill out over the summer. The saving grace of Slow Burn's production lies in the casting of Clay Cartland and Courtney Poston as lovers Robbie and Julia respectively.
