Music Director Jacques Lacombe and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra present Tchaikovsky's powerful and turbulent Fourth Symphony, October 24-27 in Englewood, Princeton, Red Bank and Morristown. Violinist Vadim Gluzman joins the Orchestra for Bernstein's Serenade for Violin and Orchestra on a program that also includes Berlioz's Beatrice and Benedict Overture.

Montego Glover to Join New York Pops for SING SING SWING at Carnegie Hall, 11/1

On Friday, November 1 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, The New York Pops under the direction of Music DirectorSteven Reineke is joined by Tony Award nominee Montego Glover and clarinetist Dave Bennett for Sing Sing Swing, an all-swing music program that harkens back to the era when big bands ruled the dance floor. The program also pays tribute to the 75th anniversary of Benny Goodman's storied debut at Carnegie Hall with his jazz orchestra. The concert, which took place on January 16, 1938, helped to elevate the status of swing music in the US and beyond, and included some of the brightest jazz luminaries of the day, including Count Basie and members of the Duke Ellington orchestra. The recording of Goodman's performance at Carnegie Hall remains one of the best-selling jazz albums of all time.

San Francisco Girls Choir to Present Holiday Concerts, 12/6 & 12/22

The five-time Grammy-winning San Francisco Girls Chorus-Lisa Bielawa, Artistic Director, and Valerie Sainte-Agathe, Music Director and Principal Conductor-- will present two holiday concerts,December 6 and 22 at First Congregational Church in Berkeley and Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco, respectively. The 40-voice San Francisco Girls Chorus will present "Noel, Noel" Friday, December 6, at 8 pm at First Congregational featuring holiday favorites and an audience sing-along. These 40 award-winning young artists will be joined by the full complement of nearly 400 members of the San Francisco Girls Chorus School, from ages 5 to 18, for the annual Davies Hall holiday extravaganza, Sunday, December 22, at 8 pm. This year's edition, entitled "Hark, the Herald Angels Swing!" will feature the Marcus Shelby Quintet and Shelby's new arrangements of "Go Tell It On The Mountain" and "Hark the Herald" written especially for the San Francisco Girls Chorus plus other seasonal favorites and an audience sing-along. The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra opens the 2013.14 Pops season with Ella, Louis, and All That Jazz on October 11-13, 2013 at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. Guest conductor Jeff Tyzik leads the orchestra, featuring Byron Stripling, trumpet; Marva Hicks, vocalist; and Robert Breithaupt, drums. In tribute to Ella, Satchmo, and Fats Waller, the concerts include favorites such as S'Wonderful, It Don't Mean a Thing, What a Wonderful World, and selections from Gershwin's Porgy & Bess.
