STAGE TUBE: Unicorn Theatre Announces Extension of MY NAME IS ASHER LEV Through May 19

The powerful and emotional play 'My Name is Asher Lev,' onstage at Unicorn Theatre, has been extended an extra week and will now play through May 19, rather than ending May 12 as originally scheduled. 'With such positive response from the audience, and overwhelming ticket sales, we can't help but extend the run of the show', said Cynthia Levin, Unicorn Theatre Producing Artistic Director. The Coterie's Young Playwrights Festival Set for 4/24 & 25

It's The Coterie's favorite time of the year: World premiere readings from some of Kansas City's most talented teen playwrights will be showcased during the annual Young Playwrights Festival at 7:00 p.m., April 24 and 25, at The Coterie Theatre, on level 1 of the Crown Center Shops. Professional actors, directors and designers work to present a collection of six staged readings, plays and monologues from teen members of The Coterie's Young Playwrights Roundtable.

The Coterie Opens BUD, NOT BUDDY, 4/9

The Coterie presents Bud, Not Buddy, a jazz-era mystery set in the Midwest about the adventures of Bud, a young boy whose search for his father - who he is convinced is a prominent jazz musician - sets him off a humorous and heartwarming journey that leads him to a new understanding of 'family.' Directed by Scot Copeland, Bud, Not Buddy runs April 9 - May 24, 2013.

KC Rep Begins Performances of The Living Room's Re-Imagined CAROUSEL Tonight

Excitement is building for Kansas City Rep's presentation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Carousel, directed by Kyle Hatley, the theatre's associate artistic director. This is the musical theatre event that sparked delight in hearts of audience members and critics alike when it was first presented in 2011 by The Living Room (TLR), one of Kansas City's most imaginative small theatre companies. The Rep is now bringing TLR's beautifully re-envisioned Carouselto Spencer Theatre for a second production.

American Heartland Theatre will present the award-winning musical LIFE COULD BE A DREAM! TELL-TALE ELECTRIC POE, Returns to The Coterie

The Coterie Theatre blends horrifying with humorous in the theatre's acclaimed Tell-Tale Electric Poe based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe February 23 - March 10. The concept and adaptation of this two-person show is by Jeff Church.

Eric Rosen to Helm Kansas City Repertory Theatre's DEATH OF A SALESMAN; Gary Neal Johnson to Star

One of Kansas City's most acclaimed actors, Gary Neal Johnson, is set to star as the iconic Willy Loman in Kansas City Repertory Theatre's production of Arthur Miller's Tony Award-winning Death of a Salesman. The Rep's artistic director Eric Rosen will direct the production, which runs January 18-February 10 at Spencer Theatre. Miller's classic play about a down-on-his-luck salesman searching for his American Dream remains one of the most profound dramas in the canon of American theatre.
