New York City Opera is pleased to announce casting for numerous roles in its 2013-14 productions: Anna Nicole, a co-production with BAM that kicks off the 2013 Next Wave Festival, September 17 - 28 at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House; Johann Christian Bach's Endimione, February 8 - 16, 2014 at El Museo del Barrio; Bluebeard's Castle, a co-production with St. Ann's Warehouse, February 28 - March 15, 2014; and The Marriage of Figaro, April 19 - April 26, 2014 at New York City Center. The Company will announce additional casting soon.

Macy Gray and David Murray Infinity Quartet will be hitting the SubCulture stage four times between tonght, June 19th and Thursday June 20th. The gifted songwriter and dazzling singer has won two Grammy's, two MTV Awards and sold over 15 million records. David Murray is a Grammy award winner who is considered by many to be among the greatest and most versatile saxophonist, composers, and bandleaders this country has produced. This show will celebrate the release of his latest album, Be My Monster Love, available June 11th.
The National Symphony Orchestra Announces its 2013 Wolf Trap Summer Schedule

The National Symphony Orchestra today announced its 2013 line-up of performances at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts. Eleven performances will take place between June 26 and August 3, 2013. Emil de Cou, in his ninth season as NSO@Wolf Trap Festival Conductor, hosts 10 of the performances and conducts four, including the opening and closing performances in the series.

Through haunting and immersive sound design, ELE??TOR transforms the stage of The Brick into a dangerously malfunctioning elevator making its way to the top of the Empire State Building. Coinciding with the centenary of the Italian Futurist Luigi Russolo's unveiling of his 'intonarumori' noise generators in June 1913-a signal event in the history of experimental music and sound design-it follows three hapless passengers on a vertiginous, bewildering journey in which soporific Muzak, Industrial Age machinery, and mysterious echoes all vie for dominance of the sonic space. The result is a disturbing reminder of both our dependence on and our incomprehension of the technologies that drive the modern world.

George London Foundation for Singers Announces 2013-14 Season

Three international opera stars and three stars on the rise are the six artists who headline the 2013-14 season of events of the George London Foundation for Singers, which has been honoring, supporting, and presenting the finest young opera singers in the U.S. and Canada for more than four decades. Five of the artists are GeorgeLondon Award winners, and thus among the “scores of important singers [who] have been discovered by the [George London Foundation] competition over the years,” as Peter G. Davis wrote in The New York Times last year.
