After four previously sold out shows, Broadway's Cinderella, Tony nominee Laura Osnes and music director Benjamin Rauhala returned to host The Broadway Princess Party at Feinstein's/54 Below. The all-star cast sang the most beloved 'Princess' songs of stage and screen in a magical evening. Where else might a little mermaid duet with a beautiful bookworm? Or might an ice queen drink tea with a princess who keeps only dwarves for company? Might the princess with a lost glass slipper confide in a princess who lives in a tower, with the longest of hair? As BroadwayWorld previously reported, following a critically acclaimed, hit world premiere engagement at Paper Mill Playhouse this fall, The Bandstand will open on Broadway in the 2016 - 2017 season starring Tony Award® nominee Laura Osnes(Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella) and Corey Cott (Newsies). Directed and choreographed by Tony Award® winner Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton, In the Heights), The Bandstand features music by Richard Oberacker and a book and lyrics by Richard Oberacker and Robert Taylor. The critically acclaimed play THE WOODSMAN, a uniquely inventive retelling of the origins of Oz's Tin Woodsman, officially opened last night, February 8, 2016, at Off-Broadway's New World Stages - Stage 5 (340 West 50th Street). The lineup is complete for Broadway Sings Billy Joel, the 10th installment of the star-studded BROADWAY SINGS concert series. A cast of 20 Broadway stars will sing completely new arrangements of the Piano Man's greatest hits. The performers will be accompanied by a jazz orchestra playing original orchestrations. Previous artists honored in the series include Adele, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, and Sara Bareilles.
Growing up in a pretty big town in Georgia has had a lot of perks. One of them includes the amount of amazing school theatre programs we have in the area around us, and it's inspiring to see others working hard as you while balancing tedious hours of homework and studying and maybe even a job. Then there are also the community theatre productions, whether it is at the church down the street or at a cool studio you've heard so many people praising. Opportunity has always been available around me. Still, there's the question of what to do with my free time. Do I audition for the big school musical, or do I test the waters at a creative theater down the street with a director I've never worked with? Maybe you've had the same dilemma as a young, aspiring theatre nerd. Both have their advantages. It's up to the artist to decide.

To life! The Broadway revival of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF just opened Sunday night, December 20 at The Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway), wrapping up the 2015 Broadway season. FIDDLER ON THE ROOF is directed by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher, and choreographed by Hofesh Shechter.
