Last month, twenty of the brightest talents on Broadway were featured in Broadway Sings Bruno Mars, the latest concert in the Broadway Sings series. The tribute series takes the music of well-known music icons and creates new, unique arrangements and orchestrations by twisting the style to fit the strength of the performer. Previous concerts have included Adele, Stevie Wonder, and Justin Timberlake; this November, producer Corey Mach (Godspell, Wicked) and music director Joshua Stephen Kartes will present Broadway Sings Sara Bareilles.?

Bucks County Playhouse producers Robyn Goodman and Alexander Fraser just announced the 2nd Annual Oscar Hammerstein Festival -- named in honor of the master lyricist who wrote some of America's most beloved and recognizable musicals at his family farm in Bucks County.

Paper Mill Playhouse has announced that Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes (Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella, Bonnie and Clyde), Corey Cott (Newsies,Gigi) and Tony Award winner Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone, 42nd Street) will star in the theater's world-premiere musical The Bandstand .

The 17th annual Broadway Barks fundraiser - the star-studded dog and cat adoption event to benefit New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies founded by Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore - was held July 11 in Shubert Alley. On July 13th over a dozen of Broadway's most distinctive voices will celebrate larger-than-life recording artist Katy Perry at 54 Below, singing her signature party anthems and her most heartfelt hits. The team has added more voices to the night's lineup!

You can't help but cheer for the loveable Newsies in Disney's Broadway musical based on the real news boy strike of 1899 and the financial flop film they produced on the matter in 1992. Disney's Newsies is a well written, incredibly designed, choreographed, and acted hit! Audiences are getting all of the great Disney quality music they've come to expect from legendary composer Alan Menken along with a story line that is as timely as ever with university, teacher, and grocery workers strikes appearing almost daily in the headlines.

The event is free and open to the public.

On August 24th, cast members from the Broadway hit Newsies will reunite on the stage of 54 Below, exactly 1 year after closing. Audience members can expect to hear a variety of styles of music as well as stories and memories shared by the cast.

After a sold-out stint at The Cutting Room, the BROADWAY SINGS concert series will reprise their latest installment, Broadway Sings Bruno Mars, at the Highline Ballroom on July 20th at 7pm. Some of Broadway's current, brightest talents will again sing completely brand new arrangements of the hits of funk superstar, accompanied by a full band playing original orchestrations. Previous artists honored in the series include Adele, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Stevie Wonder, Amy Winehouse, Justin Timberlake, and P!NK. This October, the series will continue with Broadway Sings Sara Bareilles.?

Gigi, the new Broadway production of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe's beloved Oscar and Tony Award-winning musical comedy, will play its final performance today, Sunday, June 21 at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 West 52nd Street). The production, which began previews on Thursday, March 19 and opened officially on Wednesday, April 8, will have played 20 previews and 86 performances.

Vanessa Hudgens and the cast of Broadway's GIGI took to the street to serenade the cast of JERSEY BOYS, their neighboring show at 52nd Street's August Wilson Theatre.

It's just a handful of hours until the 69th annual Tony Awards, which will be broadcast live on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 8/7c on CBS. This Broadway season has some exciting contenders in the musical categories, and to get you ready for the big night, I'm recapping the albums you should be listening to (or at least pre-ordering).
