Steppenwolf Presents TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, 10/12-11/12

Steppenwolf for Young Adults celebrates the 50th anniversary of the acclaimed American classic To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, dramatized by Christopher Sergel and directed by Hallie Gordon. The production features ensemble member Alan Wilder with Abu Ansari, Carolyn Defrin, James D. Farruggio, Caroline Heffernan, Franette Liebow, Zachary Keller, Larry Neumann Jr., Elaine Roth, Gary Simmers, Philip R. Smith, Sandra Watson, Bubba Weiler, Claire Wellin and Dexter Zollicoffer. To Kill a Mockingbird runs October 12 - November 12, 2010 in Steppenwolf's Upstairs Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted St. Weekday matinees (Tuesdays - Fridays) are reserved for school groups only, with weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) performances available to the public. Single tickets go on-sale Friday, July 30, 2010.

The story is adapted and directed by former Next Artistic Director Jason Loewith, who penned the highly successful Adding Machine: A Musical, which won a host of awards in Chicago and then off-Broadway where it ran for eight months.

Goodman Theater Hosts MICHAEL MERRITT DESIGN AWARDS 5/3

The 17th Annual Merritt Award for Excellence in Design and Collaboration program, posthumously honoring and celebrating the work of lighting and set designer Michael Philippi (Desire Under the Elms, Death of a Salesman), 'an esteemed longtime collaborator and friend', will take place on Monday, May 3, at the Goodman Theatre.
