Writers' Theatre Presents A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE 5/4-7/11

Writers' Theatre Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma announce Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire, directed by David Cromer. The production runs May 4-July 11, 2010, at Writers' Theatre, 325 Tudor Court in Glencoe.

Frank Galati Returns to Northwestern to Helm ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, 10/24

Tony Award-winning director and Northwestern alumnus Frank Galati will open the Theatre and Interpretation Center (TIC) at Northwestern University's 2009-10 Mainstage Season with Joseph Kesselring's 'Arsenic and Old Lace,' an entertainingly macabre play of murder and mayhem.

Stoneham Theatre Presents THE SPARROW in East Coast Premiere, 10/22

After garnering critical and popular acclaim with its debut at the House Theatre of Chicago, The Sparrow comes to Stoneham Theatre for its East Coast Premiere. Nathan Allen, who both conceived and directed the original Chicago production of The Sparrow, will also be directing the Stoneham Theatre production. The Sparrow tells the story of an orphaned teenager named Emily Book who returns home to finish her final year of high school-but this time, she's carrying a secret. An ordinary teenager with extraordinary abilities must now embrace her supernatural powers and confront the truth about her past.

The production, featuring Belinda Cervantes, Gina Cornejo, Sandra Delgado, Liza Fernandez, Ricardo Gutierrez, Christina Nieves, Tony Sancho and Mari Stratton runs October 13 - November 1, 2009 in the Steppenwolf Upstairs Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted St. Weekday matinees (Tuesdays - Fridays) are reserved for school groups, with all additional performances available to the public.
