The House Theatre of Chicago is thrilled to announce the premiere of GIRLS VS. BOYS, opening Sunday, April 18 at the Chopin Theatre (1543 W. Division St.), with preview performances April 8-16. Developed in partnership with The American Music Theatre Project at Northwestern University, GIRLS VS. BOYS is an exhilarating battle of the sexes that pushes the envelope on the typical-theater going experience. This innovative new musical features book and lyrics by Chris Mathews, Jake Minton and Nathan Allen, the creative team behind The Sparrow and Rose and the Rime, with original music by Kevin O'Donnell and choreography by Tommy Rapley.

The show will play through Saturday, May 29, 2010.

SYNOPSIS: Hard drinking, pill popping, parties and sex - these kids can have anything they want. But when six hot-blooded heartbroken teenagers decide they want more, life really gets dangerous. Now they're on a high-stakes quest to find love by the end of the night... even if it kills them.
For the run of GIRLS VS. BOYS, audiences will get to choose between two dramatically different seating options: regular seating, as with any of House's shows at the Chopin, and "pit" tickets - 50 standing room only seats built into the middle of the set to put audiences right in the action. During the regular run all pit seats are just $15 ($10 during previews).

The cast includes Dillan Arrick (Sam), Joel Gross (Kreuger), Tyler Ravelson (Casey), Nicky Scheunke (Lane), Kevin Stangler (George) and Whitney White (Kate) with Kelley Abell, Brie De Giulio, Matt Deitchman, Jash Eskew, Patrick Martin, Danielle Plisz, Travis Porchia and Brandon Ruiter.
GIRLS VS. BOYS is written by Chris Mathews, Jake Minton, and Nathan Allen and directed by Nathan Allen. Music by Kevin O'Donnell with Nathan Allen. Choreography and movement by Tommy Rapley and music direction by Ethan Deppe. Scenic and props design by Collette Pollard, lighting design by Sarah Hughey, costume design by Ana Kuzmanic and sound design by Brett Masteller.
Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 7 p.m.
