"TalkOut Mondays" (after performance) continues March 15th with Bill C Davis (playwright), Tim Viola (activist, BC/EFA) and Broadway Impact co-founders: Gavin Creel (star of "Hair"), Rory O'Malley & Jenny Kanelos at the critically acclaimed hit show "The Temperamentals" by Jon Marans at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street). Daryl Roth, Stacy Shane and Martian Entertainment are presenting the new American play. Thomas Jay Ryan (recently on Broadway "In The Next Room") portrays Harry Hay. Michael Urie (from TV's "Ugly Betty") is Rudi Gernreich. Arnie Burton (an original cast member of Broadway's "39 Steps") joins the cast in multiple roles. Rounding out the cast of five multiple talented actors are Matthew Schneck, and Sam Breslin Wright. The critically acclaimed hit show is directed by Jonathan Silverstein. The Set & Costume design is by Clint Ramos, lighting by Josh Bradford and Daniel Kluger is the sound designer. Jacksonville's Players by the Sea opened their production of the classic Eugene O'Neil play, A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN yesterday, March 12th. The production, directed by Gordon Goede runs through March 27th.

Rubicon Theatre Company continues its 2009-2010 Season with the Central Coast Premiere of a timely drama about a fascinating and enigmatic figure in American history. TRYING, which opens March 13 and runs through April 4th (with low-priced previews March 11 and 12), is a poignant, poetic and powerful story about a relationship between Francis Biddle, Attorney General under Roosevelt and Chief Judge at the Nuremburg trials; and Sarah, a tenacious 25-year-old woman from the Canadian plains, one of a string of secretaries Biddle's wife has hired to help him put his affairs in order at the end of his long an illustrious career. Biddle, 81, is in poor health, proud and cantankerous as he begins to confront his own mortality. Sarah, however, is also headstrong, and from her early life on the prairie has developed a strength and wisdom beyond her years. Despite the difference in ideologies and age, the two forge a friendship. The play is autobiographical in nature and is written by Joanna McClelland Glass, who worked for Biddle in the late 60s.

Beginning February 11 and running through March 13 (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings), THE HERITAGE - O'NEILL THEATRE COMPANY (a professional Helen Hayes Award-eligible company located in metropolitan Washington, D.C.) will be presenting Eugene O'Neill's lyrical 'A MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN' - a eulogy he wrote about his older brother, Jamie O'Neill, and which is often referred to as 'the follow-up' to his masterpiece, 'Long Day's Journey into Night.'

The 2010 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, the most prestigious award given annually to women playwrights, has been awarded to American playwright Julia Cho for her play 'The Language Archive.' Ms. Cho received the honor at a private reception in New York City on Wednesday, March 3. The award of $20,000 and a signed and numbered print by artist Willem de Kooning were presented to Ms. Cho by Tony Award-winning director Doug Hughes, one of the distinguished judges for the 2010 Blackburn Prize.

Ken Ludwig's comedy LEND ME A TENOR starring Anthony LaPaglia, Tony Shalhoub, Jan Maxwell, Mary Catherine Garrison, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Jay Klaitz, and Brooke Adams, directed by Stanley Tucci, will bow on Broadway on April 4, 2010 at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street). Preview performances begin March 11. Additonal casting will be announced.

In 2006, Miami's Coconut Grove Playhouse dimmed it's lights for the seemingly last time as they shut down due to the more than $4 million in debt they had accured. Now, however, GableStage has stepped in to once again give this historic playhouse life, according to a report in the Miami Herald.

Ralph Miller, owner of the Bucks County Playhouse, is facing some financial difficulties at the moment. He has made one sole mortgage payment in over a year, and has declared bankruptcy to avoid selling the playhouse in August. Similar stories are appearing across the country as owners struggle to maintain their businesses in this economy, but Miller's case seems a bit more complicated than that: this is his third bankruptcy since 1992.

The Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St. in Manhattan) announces a three-week extension - now through December 20, 2009 -- of David Rambo's play THE LADY WITH ALL THE ANSWERS starring Tony Award-winner Judith Ivey as the legendary advice columnist Ann Landers Off-Broadway.

The New York Philharmonic will present SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert on March 15 and Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. This celebration of the 80th birthday of the great Broadway and film composer/lyricist will include his most enduring orchestral music and songs - performed, in some cases, by the stars of the original Broadway cast productions - in addition to rarely-heard material. Joining the celebration will be (in alphabetical order) Michael Cerveris, Victoria Clark, Jason Danieley, Nathan Gunn, George Hearn, Patti LuPone, Marin Mazzie, Audra McDonald, Donna Murphy, Mandy Patinkin, Bernadette Peters, and others to be announced, including surprise guests. Paul Gemignani, Mr. Sondheim's longtime collaborator, will conduct the New York Philharmonic; Lonny Price is the director; and Mr. Price and Matt Cowart are the producers.
