The Cherry Lane Theatre announces casting for the 25th anniversary revival of the worldwide smash-hit musical NUNSENSE by Dan Goggin

One of the most successful musicals of all time, Dan Goggin's NUNSENSE will celebrate its silver birthday this summer with a 25th anniversary production presented by the Off-Broadway Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St. in Manhattan) -- where the hilarious musical comedy about the Little Sisters of Hoboken debuted Off-Broadway in 1985 - with performances beginning June 15 and running through July 18, 2010, it has been announced by Angelina Fiordellisi, Artistic Director of Cherry Lane Theatre and herself a former member of the cast of NUNSENSE in 1987.

Theatre World Awards for Outstanding Broadway or Off-Broadway Debut performances during the 2009-2010 theatrical season will be presented by former Theatre World Award winners. Past award recipients expected to present (or perform) at this year's ceremony include: Kate Burton (Winners, 1983), Michael Cristofer (The Cherry Orchard, 1977), Viola Davis (Seven Guitars, 1996), Jonathan Groff (Spring Awakening, 2007), Robert LuPone (A Chorus Line, 1976 Special Award), Alli Mauzey (Cry-Baby, 2008), Michael McKean (Accomplice, 1990), Brian Stokes Mitchell, (Mail, 1988), Alfred Molina (Molly Sweeney, 1996) Loretta Ables Sayre (South Pacific, 2008), John Tartaglia (Avenue Q, 2004), and Vanessa Williams (Kiss of the Spider Woman, 1995). The award-winning composer, arranger, and pianist Alex Rybeck will serve as musical director for the event.

Star of stage and screen Stanley Tucci has officially been cast in THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA. Tucci, who recently directed the current Broadway revival of Lend Me A Tenor, will play Dr. Abraham Erksine, the scientist responsible for creating the superhero in the original comics.

Tickets are now on sale for NUNSENSE which will begin preview Off-Broadway at the Cherry Lane Theatre on June 13. The show will officially open on June 20. This production marks the 25th anniversary of NUNSENSE. The show is written and directed by Dan Goggin.

Pulitzer Prize winner playwright Paul Green's The Lost Colony opens the 73rd Season on May 28 at 8pm. According to The Hollywood Reporter Stanley Tucci, Zachary Quinto, Carla Guino and Kevin Spacey have signed on to star in 'Margin Call' a few film from writer-director J.C. Chandor. 'Margin Call' takes place in an investment bank during the 2008 financial collapse.

The Lost Colony is the 'grandfather' of all outdoor dramas and is produced by the Roanoke Island Historical Association (RIHA), a non-profit whose mission is to celebrate the history of the first English colonies on Roanoke Island, North Carolina.

The New York Philharmonic will present SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert on March 15 and Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. This celebration of the 80th birthday of the great Broadway and film composer/lyricist will include his most enduring orchestral music and songs - performed, in some cases, by the stars of the original Broadway cast productions - in addition to rarely-heard material.
