DanceWorks Chicago and Lou Conte Dance Studio Partner for DanceChance

Beginning Today, September 30, 2016, DanceWorks Chicago's monthly program DanceChance returns to the Lou Conte Dance Studio in the Hubbard Street Dance Center, located at 1147 West Jackson Boulevard in Chicago's West Loop. Since its inception in March 2008, DanceChance has encouraged dialogues between artists and audiences, across 85 events to date, featuring the work of more than 200 Chicago-based choreographers.

CHICAGO – Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Artistic Director Glenn Edgerton are excited to announce the main company's 2016–17 season performances in Chicago. Tickets to four engagements at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Millennium Park, located at 205 East Randolph Street in Chicago, are available immediately as a Season 39 subscription; single tickets will go on sale in late summer 2016.

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, under the artistic direction of Glenn Edgerton, announces today its third mainstage engagement of the 2015-16 dance season. March 17-20, 2016 at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, the Season 38 Spring Series features a world premiere by choreographer and Hubbard Street Rehearsal Director Lucas Crandall, creator of numerous acclaimed works including Atelier, Gimme, and The Set.

Hubbard Street Dance Announces Youth Summer Camps

Hubbard Street Artistic Director Glenn Edgerton and Kathryn Humphreys, Director of the organization's Youth, Education and Community Programs, are delighted to offer a wide range of diverse dance opportunities for young people for a sixth consecutive summer. Early Childhood,Primary, Secondary, and Intensive categories align with Hubbard Street Youth Dance Program classes held during the academic year, and allow the families of first-time students to easily find the Youth Summer Camps best-suited to their needs. Pre-professional programs — including a new Junior Intensive and evening technique classes — provide space for continuing progressive study, while interdisciplinary and creative camps focus on self-expression. Hubbard Street's “à la carte” registration for Youth Summer Camps facilitates “mix-and-match” scheduling, making movement practice accessible to young dancers of all ages, skill levels, and interests.

Cast Announced for FAR FROM HEAVEN Chicago Premiere

Porchlight Music Theatre and Artistic Director Michael Weber are proud to present the Chicago premiere of Far From Heaven, book by Richard Greenberg, music by Scott Frankel and lyrics by Michael Korie and starring multi-Jeff Award-winner Summer Naomi Smart with Brandon Springman and Evan Tyrone Martin. The production is directed by Porchlight Artistic Associate Rob Lindley, music directed by Chuck Larkin and choreographed by William Carlos Angulo, February 5 - March 13, 2016. Previews are Friday, Feb. 5 at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6 at 8 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. and opening night is Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at Stage 773, 1225 W.
