Traverse Theatre Announces Autumn 2015 Season, to Close with TRACKS OF THE WINTER BEAR

As the Traverse Theatre enjoys an acclaimed Festival programme it launches its Autumn season today (17 August), featuring a programme of world-class productions, festivals and engagement events. Traverse Theatre Company production, Tracks of the Winter Bear by Rona Munro and Stephen Greenhorn, premieres on 9 December, bringing to a close a season of work that reinforces the Traverse's position as one of the UK's foremost new writing theatres.

Today Keen Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein announced his plans for the upcoming season: "I am thrilled to present Keen's 16th season. This season, we will present two very different plays in uniquely different styles, each of which makes us contemplate fundamental questions about identity. In the fall, I will direct Giles Havergal's wonderfully theatrical adaptation of Graham Greene 's comedic novel Travels With My Aunt and I am thrilled to welcome back Thomas Jay Ryan, with whom I collaborated with on The Temperamentals, as well as Daniel Jenkins, a Keen alum I have always wanted to work with.

Adam Karim (Sajit Khan), Assad Zaman (Saleem Khan), Dharmesh Patel (Abdul Khan), Salma Hoque (Meenah Khan) and Simon Nagra (George Khan) join the previously announced comedy award-winning actress Pauline McLynn (Ella Khan) and original West End cast members, Ashley Kumar (Tariq Khan) and Darren Kuppan (Maneer Khan) to complete the casting of the Khan family in the national tour of Ayub Khan Din's critically-acclaimed play East is East. The Khans are joined by Kammy Darweish (Mr Shah), Sakuntala Ramanee (Mrs Shah) and Sally Bankes (Auntie Annie).

Juma Sharkah and Laura Elsworthy Join MIF's THE SKRIKER

Juma Sharkah and Laura Elsworthy will play Lily and Josie respectively in The Skriker at Manchester International Festival. The production will run at Royal Exchange Theatre from 4 July. The ensemble cast will include Sarah Amankwah, Harry Attwell, Alex Austin, Hannah Hutch, Martins Imhangbe, Kate Jackson, Stuart Overington, Beatrice Scirocchi, Andrew Sheridan, Jessica Walker, Leah Walker and Owen Whitelaw. As previously announced, Maxine Peake will play the eponymous role.

American Theater Company Artistic Director PJ Paparelli Dies at 40

The Chicago Tribune writes that PJ Paparelli, artistic director of Chicago's American Theater Company for seven years, died today, May 21, 2015 following a car accident while on vacation in Scotland earlier this week. He was 40.

ATC Extends THE PROJECT(S)

To accommodate high demand for tickets, American Theater Company (ATC) has extended the run of its critically acclaimed world premiere The Project(s) four weeks through June 21, 2015. Conceived, co-written and directed by ATC Artistic Director PJ Paparelli and co-written by Joshua Jaeger, The Project(s) was initially scheduled to close on May 24. The documentary play about the history of public housing in Chicago features an ensemble cast of Linda Bright Clay, Stephen Conrad Moore, Omar Evans, Kenn E. Head, Joslyn Jones, Penelope Walker, Anji White and Eunice Woods. Single tickets for The Project(s) range from $43-$48 and are now on sale at the ATC box office at 773-409-4125 or www.atcweb.org. A select number of free tickets are available at each performance for all former and current public housing residents. Interested residents can call ATC at 773-409-4125 for more details.

ATC to Bring THE PROJECT(S) 'The Project(s)to Cabrini-Green & Wentworth Gardens

American Theater Company (ATC) announces a special community tour of The Project(s), a world premiere documentary play about the history of public housing in Chicago, to the Cabrini-Green and Wentworth Gardens neighborhoods this month. Free public performances will be held at Edward Jenner Elementary Academy of the Arts on May 17 at 6 p.m. and Wentworth Gardens Field house on May 24 at 5 p.m. Seating for both performances will be available on a first come, first served basis.

The full cast is announced today for The Father, transferring to the Tricycle Theatre following a hugely successful, critically acclaimed run last year at the Ustinov Studio in Bath. Kenneth Cranham, Rebecca Charles, Colin Tierney and Jade Williams reprise their original roles and are joined by new cast members Claire Skinner and Jim Sturgeon. The production opens on 12 May, with previews from 7 May, and runs until 13 June.
