2016. The computer revolution. In a world becoming ever more technologically advanced, and reliant upon computers, machine learning and artificial intelligence are rapidly and fundamentally changing every aspect of human experience. But how does technology affect art and the creative process?

Award-winning playwright David Ireland (Can't Forget About You, Everything Between Us) has turned his hand to writing our panto script this year, and with our trusted director/designer Kenny Miller at the helm, SLEEPING BETTY promises to be a hoot, filled with all the usual Glesga patter, hilarious slapstick and general nonsense.

The Everyman & Playhouse's 2016 spring season will feature love, loyalty, betrayal, oppression, transcendence, motherhood, brotherhood, tragedy and comedy. Gemma Bodinetz will direct a new adaptation of Madame Bovary with Peepolykus at the Everyman, while at the Playhouse there will be a major revival of Frank McGuinness's Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme. There are also partnerships with National Theatre of Scotland and Told By An Idiot on I Am Thomas, and DaDaFest and Turf Love for Unsung, a new production about Liverpool radical Edward Rushton.

After its phenomenal run on and off Broadway, the critically acclaimed five times Tony award nominated play 'Hand to God' (including Best New Play and Best Director) is making its way to London's West End and will open at the Vaudeville Theatre in early 2016.  Previews start on 5 February, press night is 15 February.

The Citizens Theatre embraces a pop-punk spirit for its wild and anarchic festive production, Rapunzel, with the casting of Cat Myers, drummer with Glasgow grunge duo Honeyblood. A fun and alternative festive treat for the whole family aged 6 and upwards, Rapunzel runs from Saturday 28 November 2015 to Sunday 3 January 2016.

This Christmas audiences will be transformed to the land of StratEastHam by the Olivier Award nominated and critically acclaimed team at Theatre Royal Stratford East, with their new adaption of ROBIN HOOD. Combining the timeless story with a contemporary and fresh script and original music, this version is sure to impress audiences during its run at the highly renowned East London producing house. ROBIN HOOD is running from Saturday 5 December to Saturday 23 January, with press night on Wednesday 16 December.

?The Citizens Theatre today announces its complete Spring 2016 Season, including a trilogy of new plays by Zinnie Harris, inspired by the epic Greek tragedy The Oresteia. The season also includes a new production of Frank McGuinness' classic play Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Battle of The Somme and a new production of Beckett's iconic play Endgame featuring David Neilson and Chris Gascoyne.

Charlotte Gwinner directs Michelle Duncan (Bea), Charlotte Emmerson (Alex), Daniel Hawksford (Dewi), Charlotte Lucas(Kate), Timothy Knightley (Simon), Steven Meo (Vinnie) and Joshua Sinclair-Evans (Liam). The production opens tonight 3 November, with previews from 29 October, and runs until 14 November at Sheffield Theatres, ahead of a run at Orange Tree Theatre from 26 November to 19 December.

·         In 2016 the Royal Court Theatre celebrates its 60th birthday by looking towards the future. The new season includes six world premieres, five UK and worldwide collaborations, one European premiere, a major collaboration with LIFT, a partnership with Picturehouse Cinemas, the return of Open Court and ongoing work in Tottenham and Pimlico.

A new musical co-production written by Paul Higgins and Deacon Blue singer and songwriter Ricky Ross and directed by Dominic Hill will be premiering at the Citizens Theatre this autumn. The Choir will be the first production to emerge from a partnership between The Citizens Theatre and Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG), which was launched to create brand new musical theatre using the talent of local writers and composers.

The Citizens Theatre's new co-production of Endgame featuring David Neilson and Chris Gascoyne in the roles of Hamm and Clov runs from Thursday 4 February - Saturday 20 February 2016.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Arthur Miller's THE CRUCIBLE will return to Broadway at the Walter Kerr Theatre (219 West 48th Street) this spring. Bill Camp (as Reverend John Hale), Jim Norton (as Giles Corey), Tavi Gevinson (as Mary Warren), and Jason Butler Harner (as Reverend Samuel Parris) are among those who will join previously announced stars Ben Whishaw (as John Proctor), Sophie Okonedo (as Elizabeth Proctor), Saoirse Ronan (as Abigail Williams), and Ciaran Hinds (as Deputy-Governor Danforth).

Today Keen Artistic Director Jonathan Silverstein announced the cast for the upcoming production of Graham Greene's Travels With My Aunt.

The 2015 Edinburgh International Festival comes to a close today after a hugely successful programme, featuring some of the world's greatest artists, which has extended its reach to audiences both at the Festival and across the world.

MAGGIE SMITH: A BIOGRAPHY is set for release on December 29, 2015.

Studio Theatre will inaugurate its Studio X series with Animal, a new play by British playwright Clare Lizzimore, commissioned for Studio's stage. "Clare is a director turned playwright whom I commissioned after reading her first play," says Artistic Director David Muse. "She has a tremendous theatrical imagination paired with an understanding of the subtle skill of actors to animate characters. Animal is an intimate and character-driven domestic drama, full of twists and humor. I've known GT Upchurch for years, and she has the craft and imagination to realize Clare's work in all its complexity and beauty."
