BEERTOWN runs Oct. 16-Nov. 15, 2015 in the Howard Drew Theatre at the Omaha Community Playhouse. Following successful runs at New York City Off-Broadway theater 59E59 and at Lincoln Center Theater's Director's Lab, dog & pony dc bring their critically acclaimed production of BEERTOWN on tour to Omaha. The tour features dynamic collaborations with dog & pony dc ensemble members and local actors and their communities across the country, each time crafting a new and uniquely relevant BEERTOWN. Twenty years ago, Michael Berkeley and Ray Roderick mounted their Rip Van Winkle musical in Pine Plains, NY. A newly-refurbished Rip will reawaken with a revamped score and new book as Rip! The Musical at The CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck, beginning today, July 17, and continuing through July 19.

PITTSBURGH, PA (July 6, 2015) — The world premiere A NEW KIND OF FALLOUT is showcased in Opera Theater of Pittsburgh's fourth SummerFest season. Inspired by environmentalist Rachel Carson (a native of Springdale, Pa.), the new opera features music by acclaimed New York-based composer Gilda Lyons and a libretto by award-winning Pittsburgh playwright Tammy Ryan.

The free event begins at 6 pm when audience members can bring chairs and blankets--or reserve a chair at the site for $10.

Comedic director extraordinaire Matt Walker directs the Los Angeles premiere of Regnard's newly rediscovered 18th century comic masterpiece for a June 19 opening at International City Theatre. Two low-priced previews are set for June 17 and 18.

Masterworks Theater Company presents the first show of their season: The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams. Directed by Christopher Scott, The Glass Menagerie will feature Saundra Santiago ('The Sopranos'), Richard Prioleau (HBO's 'A Normal Heart') as Tom, Olivia Washington (Lee Daniels' The Butler) as Laura, and Doug Harris (The Found Dog Ribbon Dance) as Jim. The play began on May 8 and opens tonight, May 14 running through May 30 at the 47th Street Theatre (304 West 47th Street).
