Disney's 'Newsies' has a Delaware County premiere on The Media Theatre stage April 18 through June 10. This deeply moving rock-musical follows a typical suburban family, haunted by past trauma that manifests itself in matriarch Diana's bipolar disorder. The Media Theatre has Next To Normal this season, January 31 through February 25, and it's the region's only production which features an entire Actors Equity Association cast. The Media Theatre's Roger Ricker will present his annual fundraising concert on Wednesday August 15 at 7:30. This year's theme is 'Super Songs of the '70's', with a focus on classic pop and Broadway tunes from the bell-bottom era. All funds raised support The Media Theatre youth and educational programs.

Media Theatre's "Delco Idol" contest begins tonight, July 11 at 7pm, with the "Junior" competition starting up Sunday July 15 at 7pm. Each continues for a total of five weeks. Five or more contestants are eliminated each week until the finals, when 20 singers will try for the 2012 title in each contest. Iron Workers Bank is the sponsor for the third summer.
