Media Theatre springs into the summer season with a surefire hit for all.

Disney's 'Newsies' has a Delaware County premiere on The Media Theatre stage April 18 through June 10. The Media Theatre (Jesse Cline, Artistic Director) is a professional music theatre located at 104 East State Street in Media, with free parking after 5pm every weekday and on weekends, and in close proximity to award winning restaurants. 

The Media Theatre presents Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt's Pultizer Prize winning musical, NEXT TO NORMAL. This deeply moving rock-musical follows a typical suburban family, haunted by past trauma that manifests itself in matriarch Diana's bipolar disorder. NEXT TO NORMAL opened on January 31st and runs through February 25th.

'Next to Normal' is a contemporary family drama, about a woman's struggle with mental illness, and the effects of her illness on her family. It is on at The Media Theatre now throughFebruary 25. For tickets, visit mediatheatre.org or call 610-891-0100.

The Media Theatre has Next To Normal this season, January 31 through February 25, and it's the region's only production which features an entire Actors Equity Association cast. The all-star list is well known to theatergoers from Philadelphia to West Chester, as well as from Bucks, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties.

This summer, The Media Theatre is in the doghouse. Disney's '101 Dalmatians' is going to be something to bark about throughout the Delaware County region as a large cast brings the animated classic to life. Check out a first look at the cast in rehearsal below!

The Media Theatre's Roger Ricker will present his annual fundraising concert on Wednesday August 15 at 7:30. This year's theme is 'Super Songs of the '70's', with a focus on classic pop and Broadway tunes from the bell-bottom era. All funds raised support The Media Theatre youth and educational programs.

The Media Theatre held auditions for the 2012 "Delco Idol" contests on May 21 and 23. More than 150 singers participated, and now the theatre has chosen this year's contestants. The final list of contestants for "Delco Idol" and "Delco Idol Junior" is available online at www.mediatheatre.org.

Media Theatre's "Delco Idol" contest begins tonight, July 11 at 7pm, with the "Junior" competition starting up Sunday July 15 at 7pm. Each continues for a total of five weeks. Five or more contestants are eliminated each week until the finals, when 20 singers will try for the 2012 title in each contest. Iron Workers Bank is the sponsor for the third summer.

The Media Theatre's Teen Ensemble will perform JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR July 13 to August 5 in a contemporary style production. Featuring a live rock band with music direction by the theatre's resident music director Tom Fosnocht, the show brings Webber's stage musical to a new generation and is directed by Jesse Cline.
