Producers of the five-time Tony Award nominated hit musical ROCK OF AGES have announced that Genson Blimline will take over the role of "Lonny" role beginning today, Monday, December 19. Mitchell Jarvis, who has starred in ROCK OF AGES since it opened on Broadway in 2009 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, is taking a leave of absence from the show to take part in the Alley Theatre production of The Toxic Avenger in Houston, Texas. Jarvis is scheduled to return to Rock of Ages on February 20, 2012.

The cast also includes Stephen Bienskie (The Last Session) as the notorious Buffalo Bill, Lucia Spina (Legally Blonde) as Catherine Martin, Deidre Goodwin (Chicago) as Ardelia Mapp. And Callan Bergmann (Lucky Guy), Pamela Bob (People Like Us), Harry Bouvy (Spamalot), Ashlee Dupre (Where's Charley?), Howard Kaye (Mamma Mia!), Topher Nuccio (Little Shop of Horrors), and Doug Trapp (Saratoga Trunk Songs).

Broadway's new production of GODSPELL has partnered with the 2011 New York Cares Coat Drive. The GODSPELL initiative - dubbed the "Give Him Your Coat As Well" Coat Drive - takes place now through Saturday, December 31at Circle in the Square Theatre.

The 40th Anniversary production and first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's rock musical GODSPELL officially opened at the Circle in the Square Theater on November 7. The cast of the show spent some time in the recording studio last month to work on a new cast album, and according to Amazon.com, it will be released on January 31, 2012. It is currently available for pre-order.
