THE KING AND I's Broadway Run Now Open-Ended; National Tour to Launch in 2016!

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Producing Artistic Director,  Andre Bishop) has extended the run of its critically acclaimed production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's THE KING AND I, directed by Bartlett Sher, indefinitely at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street).  In addition, the Ambassador Theatre Group and NETworks Presentations LLC will launch a national tour of the Lincoln Center Theater production, which was recently nominated for 9 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical, in November 2016 in Providence, RI.   The National Tour will play multi-week and single week engagements throughout the 2016-17 touring season and beyond. Casting and additional engagements for the tour will be announced at a future date.

Today we are analyzing the absolute biggest battles at this year's hotly anticipated Tony Awards, shedding a light on the most epic battle royales of the night with legendary leading ladies squaring off, British blockbusters battling it out with homegrown American fare, one of the fiercest Best Musical match-ups in history and some of the toughest revival competition in recent memory, as well. Of course, the Tony Awards will be broadcast on CBS on June 7, but for the next month we all wait with tongues wagging to see who will come out on top on Broadway's biggest and brightest night - before the eyes of all of America, no less.

Broadway legend Joel Grey (CABARET, WICKED) and Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein (FINDING NEVERLAND) will be the honorees at this year's Fred and Adele Astaire Awards. The gala evening celebrates the 2015 season's outstanding dance and choreography on Broadway and film. The event will take place on June 1, 2015 at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. ALL DANCING! ALL SINGING! Irving Berlin Dance Revue Comes to 92Y Tonight

We're reaching for the moon, putting all our eggs in one basket, dancing cheek to cheek and pouring our hearts into a song, because it's time to face the music and dance! All Dancing! All Singing! is the first Lyrics & Lyricists dance revue, celebrating Irving Berlin's contributions to Hollywood musicals. Artistic director/choreographer Randy Skinner directs a cast of hand-picked young vocalists/dancers -- Darien Crago, Danny Gardner, Drew Humphrey, Kristie Kerwin, Con O'Shea-Creal and Kristen Beth Williams -- who are joined by veterans Sandy Duncan and Don Correia as special guests. Performances are May 2, 3 and 4.

Producer Janet B. Rosen announced today that she will present two private industry readings of the critically acclaimed new musical In Transit on Thursday, May 7 and Friday, May 8, 2015. Directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies), In Transit features a book, music and lyrics by Academy Award winner Kristen Anderson-Lopez (Frozen), James-Allen Ford, Russell Kaplan and Sara Wordsworth.
