Disney Theatrical Productions and North Park Lexus Broadway in San Antonio announced that tickets for the highly anticipated San Antonio engagement of Disney's NEWSIES will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m., today, December 5. The Tony® Award-winning production will play 8 performances at the Majestic Theatre May 12-17, 2015.

Broadway In Chicago has announced that Disney's NEWSIES day-of-performance drawing for a limited number of orchestra seats will take place inside Block 37. Block 37 is located at 108 N State, across from the Oriental Theatre. NEWSIES begins performances at the Oriental Theatre (24 W Randolph) on Wednesday, December 10.

Disney Theatrical Productions, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, and Florida Theatrical Association announced today that tickets for the highly anticipated Orlando engagement of Disney's NEWSIES will go on sale to the public on Friday, November 21 at 10 a.m. as part of the FAIRWINDS Broadway in Orlando series. The Tony Award-winning production will begin performances at the Dr. Phillips Center on January 27 for a limited one-week engagement through February 1.

Lincoln Center Theater has announced that Ruthie Ann Miles (as Lady Thiang), Ashley Park (as Tuptim), Conrad Ricamora (as Lun Tha), Edward Baker-Duly (as Sir Edward Ramsey), Jon Viktor Corpuz (as Prince Chulalongkorn), Murphy Guyer (as Captain Orton), Jake Lucas (as Louis), Paul Nakauchi (as Kralahome), and Marc Oka (as Phra Alack) will be featured in its upcoming production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's THE KING AND I. The production, which will feature a cast led by Kelli O'Hara (as Anna Leonowens) and Ken Watanabe (as the King of Siam), will be directed by Bartlett Sher, and will begin previews Thursday, March 12 and open on Thursday, April 16 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street).

Disney Theatrical Productions, Broadway in Columbus, and CAPA announced today that tickets for the highly anticipated Columbus premiere engagement of Disney's NEWSIES will go on sale to the public on Thursday, November 13, at 10am. This Tony Award-winning production will begin performances at the Ohio Theatre on January 13 for a limited one-week engagement through January 19.

According to an Equity casting notice, a new, still-untitled musical by Tony nominees Benj Pasek and Justin Paul will soon get a NYC developmental lab. The project, described as 'a new musical about connections, lost and found,' features a book by Steven Levenson, and will be directed by Michael Greif. The lab will take place March 9-26, 2015.

The 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals, presented by the National Alliance For Musical Theatre (NAMT), kicked off with THE 46TH MINUTE, a concert hosted by Lindsay Mendez and featuring performances by Heidi Blickenstaff, Doreen Montalvo, Mamie Parris, Bryce Ryness, and more. Musical presentations started October 23 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street) and included Beautiful Poison, Cubamor, Great Wall, How To Break, Mary Marie, The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes, String and Stu For Silverton. Tonight, the North American tour of Broadway's Tony® Award-winning smash hit musical, NEWSIES opens in Philadelphia. During its first year of touring in the 2014-15 season, the production will play 25 cities, over 43 weeks. Now according to Variety, the tour will feature a brand new song for 'Crutchie' from songwriting team Alan Menken and Jack Feldman. The duo created the song, titled 'Letter from the Refuge,' when Disney Theatrical Productions' Thomas Schumacher challenged them to add another tune as a part of the American Theater Wing series 'Working in the Theater.'
