Two offerings at USC are complimented by SCSC's return to Finlay Park and Trustus's parody musical!

The William Inge Center for the Arts is pleased to announce playwright Octavio Solis will be the recipient of the 2019 Distinguished Achievement in the American Theater Award for his outstanding contributions to the national theater landscape. Solis will be presented the award at the 38th annual William Inge Theater Festival, the Official Theatre Festival of the State of Kansas, at Independence Community College, in Independence, Kansas. The festival will be held May 22-25, 2019.

Two outrageous one-act plays will take the stage at the UofSC Lab Theatre October 14-17, as the Department of Theatre and Dance presents Double Durang: An Evening of One-Acts by Christopher Durang.

The first of three Monday evening new-play readings at South Coast Repertory for the 2018-19 season will be Eureka Day by Jonathan Spector. The NewSCRipts reading on Monday, Oct. 22, at 7:30 p.m., is directed by Jennifer Chambers. Tickets are available at www.scr.org.

Black Button Eyes Productions is pleased to announce casting for the Chicago storefront premiere of EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL, a parody of Sam Raimi's classic Evil Dead horror films, with book and lyrics by George Reinblatt and music by Christopher Bond, Frank Cipolla, Melissa Morris and George Reinblatt.

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop) has announced that Tony Award winner Laura Benanti will assume the role of Eliza Doolittle in its award-winning production of Lerner & Loewe's MY FAIR LADY, directed by Bartlett Sher, for a limited engagement beginning Tuesday, October 23 and currently scheduled through Sunday, February 17, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Lauren Ambrose, who originated the role in this production, will play her final performance on Sunday, October 21st before leaving to begin work on M. Night Shyamalan's upcoming Apple series.

Classic Stage Company announces the full cast for The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, Bertolt Brecht's unsettlingly timeless work, which kicks off CSC's 2018-2019 season on October 30, with rehearsals beginning this week.
