LA MAMA Presents THE DARK STAR FROM HARLEM: The Spectacular Rise Of Josephine Baker

Today, LA MAMA announced the limited engagement of the world premiere musical THE DARK STAR FROM HARLEM: The Spectacular Rise of Josephine Baker. Featuring a book and direction by Glynn Borders and music and lyrics by Mario E. Sprouse, the production will play LA MAMA located at 66 East 4th Street, New York, NY, November 21 - December 1, 2019. Tickets are $30 with discounts available for students, senior adults and groups. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online at lamama.org, by calling 212.352.3101, or at the LA MAMA box office one hour before a performance.

Mickele Hogan's MOURNING THE LIVING Will Tackle Alzheimers and Their Caregivers Off-Broadway

Lifewise Productions has announced that it will stage Mickele Hogan's MOURNING THE LIVING, a new drama directed by Alan Souza about caregivers of those afflicted with Alzheimer's disease, April 7th through April 22nd at the Dorothy Strelsin Theatre at 312 West 36th Street in Manhattan.

Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities' is an emotion roller coaster. It is a heart wrenching story set around what is supposed to be a happy time of year and Richard T. Dolce's cast wonderfully delivers at the stunning John W. Engeman Theatre. Running through March 9th at the Northport venue, the play revolves around a prominent political Californian family.

Engeman Theater presents OTHER DESERT CITIES, the funny, gripping and ultimately satisfying play about family secrets brought to light from Jon Robin Baitz (creator of TV's Brothers & Sisters), which was a finalist for the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Previews began on Thursday, January 23rd at 8:00 p.m. while the official opening was last night, Saturday, January 25th at 8:00 p.m., the production runs through March 9, 2014.
