Photo Flash: TV Stars Take the Stage for John Denver's A MOMENT IN TIME Staged Reading

Drake Bell and Lindsay Pearse flew in from hollywood to star in a staged reading of the John Denver/Stewart F. Lane new musical, A Moment in Time, at Playwrights Horizons last week. John Denver, a singer, songwriter and humanitarian, has received numerous awards during his life including, two Grammies, an Emmy, and has been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. MITF Presents MAKING GOD 7/23-31

The Midtown International Theatre Festival presents MAKING GOD, a new musical by comedian Rodney Dickerman. Coco Cohn directs a cast of four including Rodney Dickerman, Cara Noel Antosca*, Angela Shultz, and Wayne Petro. Performances for MAKING GOD will be held at The Jewel Box Theatre, 312 West 36th Street in New York City for five performances from July 23-31, 2011. AEA Showcase.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) and The Group Theatre Too (GTT) present the original tap musical Count to Ten. Book, music and lyrics by Michael Blevins; lyrics by Beth Clary; music by David Wollenberger, Scott Knipe, Bruce Sacks. Count to Ten is an official selection of the 2009 New York Musical Theatre Festival and plays at The Theater at St. Clements from October 15th through the 17th.

A historic night of musical theatre took place at The Dix Hills Center Performing Arts Center. The 1929 Rodgers & Hart musical Spring Is Here, was revived by Five Towns College Theatre Division students along with a handful of talented Broadway professionals.

The YORK THEATRE COMPANY (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director) and Melanie Herman, who produced The Musical Of Musicals (The Musical!) announces the Off-Broadway Premiere of My Vaudeville Man!, a new musical based on the life of legendary eccentric tap star Jack Donahue. My Vaudeville Man! had its world premiere at last year's NY Musical Theatre Festival under the title Mud Donahue and Son. Performances are at The Theatre at Saint Peter's (54th Street just east of Lexington Avenue). Karen Murphy and Shonn Wiley star. The show officially opened, Monday November 17th.

Innaurato's 'Gemini' Musicalized for NYMF, 9/18

The New York Musical Theatre Festival and The University of the Arts present Gemini the Musical, by Albert Innaurato (book & lyrics) and Charles Gilbert (music & lyrics), based on the 1977 play, also by Innaurato, which ran for four sold-out years on Broadway. Directed by Mark Robinson with choreography by Rhonda Miller, this production will play six performances from September 18 to October 1 at The Acorn Theater.
